However, keep in mind that the trek can be arduous at specific points owing to a steep incline, uneven or slippery trails.

Owing to the Valley of Flower's preservation efforts, there is no accommodation, but you can camp in Ghangaria, about 3 km away. To reach the Valley, you have to trek from Govindghat, approximately 17 km away. The best time to visit is between June and September/October, when the flowers bloom. After that, it is closed for the rest of the year.

Which is the best time to visit Valley of Flowers?

The Valley of Flowers in Uttarakhand is open only from June to October (since it snows in the winters) and the best time to visit is from July to September. The temperature during this time ranges from 13°C to 20°C. This is the best time to see a variety of beautiful flowers like rhododendrons, marigolds, geraniums etc. in full bloom. The region is lush green and absolutely spectacular. Keep in mind that the Valley is open only from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

How many days are enough for Valley of Flowers?

If you are visiting the Valley of Flowers but don’t intend on partaking in a trek, you need about 1 to 2 days to explore the region. You can admire the beautiful flowers in bloom, explore the forest, walk along the Pushpawati River and simply enjoy the natural beauty. However, if you want to go trekking, you would need at least 3 to 4 days.

Is Valley of Flowers a difficult trek?

While the Valley of Flowers trek is not one of the most challenging ones in the country, it is still fairly challenging. The trek begins at 6,300 feet (Govindghat) and ends at 14,300 feet (Hemkund Sahib). The trail isn’t too uneven but it gets steep towards the end of the journey and it can become slightly difficult to climb, especially if you aren’t used to the exercise. The region also receives rainfall so the chances are that you might get rained on when there or might have to trek on a slippery trail. So, don’t forget to keep an umbrella, raincoat and suitable shoes. Also, in order to preserve the region’s beauty and ecology, camping is not allowed inside; this means that you can only trek during the day, from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Ho do I go to Valley of flowers?

There is no direct route to the Valley of Flowers and cars can only go up to Govindghat which is 21km from Joshimath. From there, you can trek to the Valley; it is about 17 km from there. En route to the Valley of Flowers, you will reach Ghangaria which is about 3 km away where you will need to procure a permit to enter your destination. Keep in mind that you can only trek during the daytime.
