Ultimate Kenya Safari: Ol Pejeta & Samburu Adventure

After a hearty breakfast at the camp, you will begin your day with a morning game drive. This early outing is the best time to view animals such as elephants, rhinos, and buffaloes. Ol Pejeta is famous for its rhino sanctuary, so you’ll have the opportunity to visit the Endangered Species Enclosure, home to the critically endangered northern white rhinos. In the late afternoon, enjoy an evening game drive where you might spot nocturnal animals as the sun sets.

After breakfast, you will check out of Kicheche Laikipia Camp and embark on a scenic drive to Samburu National Reserve, located about 4 hours north of Ol Pejeta. Along the way, you will pass through picturesque landscapes, from the central highlands to the dry, rugged beauty of the Samburu region. Upon arrival at Samburu Sarova Lodge (or similar), check in and enjoy lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, you will set off for an exciting game drive in the Samburu National Reserve. Known for its unique wildlife, the reserve is home to the Samburu Five – the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk. The diverse landscapes, including dry riverbeds, acacia trees, and open plains, offer great opportunities for wildlife photography and birdwatching. After your game drive, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Start your day early with a morning game drive through the Samburu National Reserve. The early hours are ideal for spotting predators such as lions and cheetahs, as well as large herds of elephants and other wildlife. The evening will be spent relaxing in the lodge or enjoying a sundowner as you reflect on your wildlife experiences. Dinner is served at the lodge, and you’ll spend the night surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

On the final day of your safari, you can enjoy a morning game drive or take some time to relax at the lodge before checking out. After breakfast, you will begin your drive back to Nairobi, where you will arrive by early afternoon. Your guide will drop you off at your hotel or airport for your onward travel.
