Tropical Kerala Adventure: From Munnar Hills to Alleppey Houseboats

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Kochi & Transfer to Munnar

On arrival at the airport you will be picked up by a driver and then drive towards Munnar.
On the way visit Cheeyappara, Valara & Kallar Waterfalls.
On arrival, check in to the resort/hotel.
This day's sightseeing includes a visit to Tea Factory and Blossom Park.
Overnight stay at Munnar.

Day 2 Munnar Sightseeing

After breakfast, visit Flower Garden, Photo Point, Mattupetty Dam, Kundala dam, Echo Point, Rajamala, etc.
Return to the hotel for dinner.
Overnight stay at Munnar.

Day 3 Munnar to Alleppey

After early breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Alleppey.
On arrival, check in to the traditional Kerala Kettuvallam (houseboat) by 12 noon (AC Deluxe houseboat on full board basis).
On the houseboat, one can skim past ancient Chinese fishing nets, water lilies, lush paddy fields, coir villages, rustic homes, temples, churches, coconut groves, innumerable lagoons, lakes, canals, and estuaries.
Overnight stay at the houseboat.

Day 4 Alleppey to Kumarakom

After breakfast, disembark from the houseboat around 09:00 AM.
Afterwards, drive to Kumarakom.
On arrival at Kumarakom, check in to the resort.
Spend the day at leisure.
OR you can enjoy Ayurvedic spa facilities at your lakefront resort or explore the nearby villages (on your own).
Overnight stay at Kumarakom.

Day 5 Kumarakom to Kovalam

After breakfast, drive to Kovalam.
Upon arrival in Kovalam, check in to the hotel and rest for a while.
Enjoy the evening at Kovalam beach.
Overnight stay in Kovalam.

Day 6 Excursion to Varkala

After breakfast, proceed for a sightseeing tour to Varkala
In Varkala, visit Varkala Beach, Sivagiri Mutt, Thiruvambadi Beach, Edava Beach, Janardana Swamy Temple, Vishnu Temple, Anjengo Fort, and Ponnumthuruthu.
Return back to Kovalam.
Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7 Departure

Depart to Trivandrum Airport/ Railway station and board the flight/train for your hometown.
Tour concludes.

Initially, I was a bit nervous since this travel agency was new to us, but the entire trip turned out to be wonderful and truly memorable. Munnar: We stayed for two nights at Aranyaka Resort, which had an excellent location, beautiful views, great room quality, and delicious breakfast. Staying in such a serene place among the tea gardens of Munnar was an amazing experience. Thekkady: Here we stayed for one night and visited the Periyar Tiger Reserve and watched a Kathakali performance. Both were unique and memorable cultural experiences. Alleppey: This was the highlight of our trip – staying overnight on a houseboat. The boat crew arranged a lovely candlelight dinner for us, which was truly special. The food was tasty, and spending the night on the water felt magical. Kovalam: We stayed two nights at The Neelakanta Resort, located right on Kovalam beach. The location and sea view were fantastic. However, the room felt a bit small, the chairs were old, and vegetarian food options were limited. Still, the beachside location made it worth it. Travel & Support: Throughout the trip, we were accompanied by Anil, our driver, who was polite, punctual, and very helpful, making our journey comfortable. A Special Thanks: I’d like to thank Kirti from 7C Destination, who helped plan this package. It turned out to be affordable, well-managed, and truly memorable for both of us. What started as a trip with some hesitation became an experience we’ll always cherish. All destination Hotels and their Breakfast were excellent but suggest you to add (Read More) fruits and Bread/Toast Butter/Jam as option for children and some time for adult also.

The houseboat experience was outstanding, with mouth-watering local cuisine, inc (Read More)luding an unforgettable fish fry. However, hot water for bathing was not available and no more activities at the shore. Rather we would have preferred to stay in a hotel and take long ride of houseboat in the afternoon to late evening would have better.

Every part of travel good. The approach road to hotel Vagamon Vagashore at Vagamon and room service at Thekkady hotel named Kumly gate were poor .
