Day 1 Arrive in Guwahati – Transfer to Shillong
- Welcome to Guwahati. Meet and be assisted by our representative at the airport/Railway Station.
- Proceed to Shillong, also called 'Scotland of the East".
- Reach the majestic Umium Lake (Barapani).
- You may do the water sports here (Optional).
- On arrival at Shillong, check in at your hotel.
- Evening you can visit Police Bazaar, which is the biggest local market.
- Overnight stay in Shillong.
Day 2 Exploring Mawlynnong and Dawki - Village Charms and Crystal-clear Waters
- Meal: Breakfast included.
- After breakfast visit Mawlynnong Village the cleanest village in India. This cute and colourful little village is known for its cleanliness. It is situated 90 kms from Shillong and, besides the picturesque village, offers many interesting sights such as the Living Root Bridge and another strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock.
- Visit Dawki, which is along the Indo-Bangladesh border. You can enjoy boating in the crystal clear waters of the Umgnot River.
- Evening return to Shillong.
- Visit Elephanta Falls and Shillong Peak for some breathtaking views.
- Overnight in Shillong.
Day 3 Scenic Treasures of Shillong - Laitlum Canyons and Krang Suri Falls
- Meal: Breakfast included.
- After breakfast, we proceed to Laitlum Canyons for some breathtaking views.
- We then visit Krang Suri Falls. It is one of the best waterfalls in Meghalaya.
- You can also swim in a naturally formed pool here.
- You can also go behind the waterfall and see the water falling in front of you.
- Evening return back to Shillong.
- Overnight in Shillong.
Day 4 Cherrapunji Exploration - Land of Endless Rain and Natural Wonders
- Meal: Breakfast included.
- Get up early today to enjoy the mesmerizing mornings of Shillong. After an early breakfast, drive to Cherrapunji, the wettest place in the world.
- Visit Eco Park, Dainthlen Falls, Nohkalikai Falls, Nohsngithiang Falls (Seven Sisters Falls), Mawsmai Cave, and Thangkharang Park.
- Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.
Day 5 Trek to Living Root Bridge - Nature's Marvels in Nongriat Village
- Meal: Breakfast included.
- After breakfast, we proceed for a full day trekking to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge at Nongriat Village.
- We have to trek down 3200 steps approximately every way to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge. We can further trek down to the Rainbow Falls, which take about 60 to 90 minutes from the Double Decker Living Root Bridge. Evening return back to Cherrapunji.
- Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.
Day 6 Cultural Delights of Guwahati - Temples, Museums, and Assam Tea
- Meal: Breakfast included. After breakfast, today check out and proceed to Guwahati.
- Enroute to Shillong, visit Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures, Ward's Lake, where you can enjoy boating, Cathedral Catholic Church and Lady Hydari Park.
- Proceed to Guwahati.
- Arrive and check-in at the hotel.
- Visit Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, where Assamese history and culture are presented.
- You may also visit the Assam Film Museum to learn about Assamese Cinema's history.
- Visit GTAC Tea Lounge to enjoy a cup of the finest Assam Tea and carry some Tea back home. Here you will find the finest quality Organic, CTC, Orthodox, Green Tea, White Tea, Purple Tea etc.
- Evening you may take a River Cruise (Direct Payment) on the mighty River Brahmaputra. You may also visit the local market.
- Assam is famous for Assam Silk, particularly Golden Muga Silk, Assam Tea, Bamboo and Cane Products.
- Overnight stay in Guwahati.
Day 7 Farewell to Northeast India - Temples, Museums, and Assam Tea

- After breakfast, check out from the hotel.
- As time permits, we may take a tour of the Kamakhya Temple and other Temples in Guwahati, namely Purva Tirupati Shri Balaji Temple, Sukreswar Temple, Navagraha Temple, Umananda Temple at the Peacock Island, which is the smallest inhabited River Island in the World, Assam State Museum, Dighali Pukhuri (Lake), State Zoo cum Botanical Garden, Planetarium and the Assam State Emporiums.
- With everlasting memories, transfer to Guwahati airport/railway station for onward journey.

I had booked 7D trip to Meghalaya. Driver and Sedan car provided was good.
Out (Read More) of the three stays,
First one - Woodland hill stay at Shillong was like a home stay accommodation with limited meal option and complimentary breakfast was just one item. Food was ok.
Second one - Riverside resort at Cherapunjee was like a hotel stay but very limited meal option and the location of the resort is far away from main road and the connection roads were not that good. Complimentary breakfast is just ok ok type with one main item.
Third one - Treetops residency at Shillong was like a typical hotel stay with good meal option. complimentary breakfast is good with two items. In addition, so many hotels are near police bazar (shillong) where we can try different cuisines.
Driver took us to the places as mentioned in itinerary for the first 4 days.
Remaining 3 days, driver told the tourist spots mentioned in the itinerary are n (Read More)ot that great and took us only to two places. As per the information provided upfront, parking fee is part of the package whereas during the travel, driver paid parking fee only in few areas and we paid in most of the spots. A clear communication about parking fee should have been provided to the driver and travels contact person should ensure that tourist spot visit as per itinerary is happening on daily basis. Since we were from Southern part of India, we were little hesitant to speak out and had language barrier to ask the same to driver.
