Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival NJP / IXB – Gangtok
  • Upon arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB), meet our local representative for assistance.
  • Transfer to Gangtok (5412 Ft / 1650Mts), a scenic 130 km drive taking approximately 4-5 hours.
  • Check in at the hotel upon arrival.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel in Gangtok.
  • After breakfast, proceed for a full-day excursion to:
    • Tshangu Lake (12,400 Ft / 3780 Mts) – A glacial lake known for its serene beauty, located 43 km from Gangtok (approx. 2-hour drive one way).
    • New Baba Mandir (13,100 Ft / 3994 Mts) – Situated 18 km further from Tshangu Lake (approx. 1-hour drive).
  • Return to Gangtok by evening.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel in Gangtok.
Important Notes:
Documents Required for Tshangu Lake & New Baba Mandir:
  1. Two passport-size photographs per traveler.
  2. Photocopy of a valid photo ID (Passport, Driving License, or Voter ID). Aadhaar Card and PAN Card are not accepted.
  3. For children below 18 years, School or College ID is required. Originals must be carried during travel.
If the visit to Tshangu Lake is not possible due to landslides or unforeseen reasons, an alternative sightseeing tour will be provided.
Foreign nationals, OCI, and PIO cardholders require a separate process for permits; prior intimation is necessary.
  • After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed towards Darjeeling (6710 Ft / 2046 Mts).
  • Enjoy the picturesque 110 km journey, taking approximately 4-5 hours.
  • On arrival, check in at the hotel.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel in Darjeeling.
  • Optional: Teesta River Rafting at Melli (available at an additional cost).
  • Early morning at around 4:00 AM, subject to clear weather, visit Tiger Hill (8482 Ft / 2586 Mts) to witness the sunrise over the mighty Kanchenjunga Peak, the third-highest peak in the world.
  • Return to the hotel for breakfast.
  • After breakfast, proceed for a half-day sightseeing tour of Darjeeling.
  • Visit the Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda, which offer a serene environment and panoramic views.
  • Explore the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park and Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, which remain closed on Thursdays, local festivals, and state and national government holidays.
  • Stop by Tenzing and Gombu Rock, which are popular sites for rock climbing enthusiasts.
  • Visit the Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center, which remains closed on Sundays, local festivals, and state and national government holidays.
  • Enjoy a panoramic tour of a Tea Estate, witnessing the scenic tea gardens that Darjeeling is famous for.
  • Return to the hotel and spend the evening at leisure.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel in Darjeeling.
  • Tiger Hill visit is subject to the availability of coupons, as only 600 vehicles are allowed in the morning. In case coupons are unavailable, the visit will be arranged after breakfast.
  • Optional: Joy Train Ride (at additional cost).
  • After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed towards New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB).
  • Enjoy a scenic 100 km drive, which takes approximately 3 to 4 hours.
  • If time permits and opted for, take a detour via Mirik Lake (4905 Ft / 1495 Mts) to experience its tranquil surroundings and picturesque views.
  • Arrive at NJP / IXB and board your onward train or flight.

Other Details

  • Indian nationals traveling to Sikkim and Darjeeling must carry the required documents for Nathula, Baba Mandir, and Tshangu Lake permits.
  • Each traveler must provide six passport-size photographs with their name, age, and gender written on the back.
  • Travelers must carry both the original and a photocopy of a valid ID such as a Passport, Election ID, or Driving License, as Aadhaar and PAN Cards are not accepted for the Sikkim Restricted Area Permit (RAP).
  • Children below 18 years must carry a School or College ID along with an English version of their Birth Certificate.
  • Foreign nationals must carry both their Passport and OCI/PIO card in original for verification.
  • Any amendments after booking will be treated as a cancellation and will be subject to cancellation charges.

Tour was planned meticulously by Virta (Sales executive and planner). Tour was designed in such manner that all the must see places are covered and transport was arranged such that time saving was kep (Read More)t in mind and also economical and comfort was looked at. Accommodation was good as all hotels was having all amenities and also placed near the market place so as to give additional comfort to your commute. Overall the holidays were planned in such a way that entertainment, comfort and budget was kept in mind. Also as we all were senior citizens, we were not kept in any uncomfortable position and timely itinerary and transport details were shared by the entire team prior to our travel dates. Would like to refer to all my friends and relatives to book the holidays with Overseas Vacation so as to forget your travel voes as you will be looked after and secure by the overall team. The only approach and behaviour of one of the hotel named FIRST HOUSE in Ko Samui was arrogant and couldn't consider our age.

Our trip to Bangkok, Krabi and Phuket was meticulously planned by Kamaha staff. Pickups were prompt right from the airport and a daily reminder of the next days activities would be sent by WhatsApp in (Read More) advance. The hotels were located right in the happening places and making it very convenient to move about in the evenings. I would definitely approach Kamaha team for my next vacations too... !!!

Ms. Simran coordinated with us for our US visitor Visa renewal which was expiring in Aug 24. They managed the appointment with interview waiver quite quickly and managed everything from documentation (Read More)to submission and collection without any problems. The whole process took less than 3 weeks, and we didn't have to visit Delhi. It was all managed with us staying at Bhopal, and today we received our passports with renewed visa at home safely. All coordinated with efficiency and care by Ms. Simran who kept in constant touch during the entire process, despite some health issues for her. Thanks to her and Mr. Bhagat for a seamless management of the procedure which took away a lot of worry from us. Their charges were also very reasonable and moderate.
