Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Guwahati - Transfer to Shillong
  • Arrive at Guwahati airport.
  • Transfer to Shillong ( 100 km / 2 ½ hrs drive).
  • En-route stop at the scenic viewpoint of the Umiam lake (the largest manmade lake in Northeast India).
  • On arrival in Shillong check in to the hotel.
  • After refreshments, explore the local night markets of Shillong.
  • Overnight stay at Shillong. 
  • Drive to Mawphlang Sacred forest ( 35 km / 02 hrs drive).
  • Start the trek known as David Scot Trail for 06 hrs.
  • Reach Mawladh.
  • Then you will be picked up and taken to Cherrapunjee.
  • Check in to the hotel.
  • Spend the evening at leisure.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel.
  • After breakfast, trek the single Decker Bridge (03 hrs trek).
  • Later explore the local sightseeing places of Cherrapunjee.
  • Later drive back to the hotel.
  • Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.
  • After breakfast, trek to Nongriat village, a War-Khasi village situated at the bottom of a deep valley. The trek is about 3 to 4 hours.
  • En route meet local Khasi villagers in Mawshamok, Tyrna, Umsohphie, and Nongthymmai.
  • See the longest Living Root Bridge, Double Decker Root Bridge, and go for a swim in Natural Swimming Pools.
  • In the evening get-together and cultural interaction with the villagers of Nongriat.
  • Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.
  • Trek downhill for about 3 / 4 hours to reach the foothills adjacent to the Bangladesh border to Dalia a Garo Village.
  • Meet the village head, you will be escorted by him through the village.
  • The chief will explain their customs/ traditions and daily life of the Garos. Garos are one of the three tribes of Meghalaya, the Khasis, Garos, and Jaintias.
  • Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.
  • After breakfast drive to Guwahati airport ( 05 hrs drive), for onward destination.

What's Good: We recently traveled to Assam and Meghalaya with the help of Safar Panda, and it was truly a fantastic experience from start to finish. I sincerely appreciate the effort they put i (Read More)nto organizing every detail — from the hotels and rooms to the cab and the driver. The driver Britu Das was extremely friendly and made our journey smooth and enjoyable. Special thanks to Mr. Ujjal and Mr. Amit, who coordinated everything so well. They were always available and supportive, and even when we requested last-minute changes to our itinerary, they accommodated us without any hassle. They went above and beyond to give us the best possible experience and ensured we covered most of the key attractions. The itinerary was thoughtfully designed and executed as planned. The hotels arranged by Safar Panda were top-notch — clean, comfortable, and located in great areas. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the food provided, especially the breakfast, which was always delicious and well-prepared to ensure we started our days right. Overall, the entire experience was more than worth the amount we paid. What's Good: We were on 6N/7D trip to NE, tour was planned in short notice Monadipa was very instrumental in planing out our itinerary, whole team was always available during the trip on WhatsA (Read More)pp/ Phone call.
What's Not Good: We liked everything on trip specially the trekking part to Double decker root bridge and blue lagoon lil further from double decker bridge, lil tiring but will recommend every one in good health to cover up these destinations once in life time
