Day 1 Arrive in Guwahati and Transfer to Shillong
  • Arrive at Guwahati airport.
  • Transfer to Shillong (100 km / 2 ½ hrs drive).
  • En route stop at the scenic viewpoint of the Umiam lake (the largest manmade lake in Northeast India).
  • On arrival in Shillong check in to the hotel.
  • After refreshments, explore the local night markets of Shillong.
  • Overnight stay at Shillong.
  • Drive to Mawphlang Sacred forest ( 35 km / 02 hrs drive).
  • Then start the trek known as David Scot Trail for 06 hrs.
  • Reach Mawladh.
  • You will be picked up and taken to Cherrapunji.
  • Check in to the hotel.
  • Spend the evening at leisure.
  • Overnight stay at Cherrapunji.
  • After breakfast trek the single Decker Bridge (03 hrs trek).
  • Later explore the local sightseeing of Cherrapunji.
  • Drive back to the hotel.
  • Overnight stay at Cherrapunji.
  • After breakfast trek to Nongriat village, a War-Khasi village situated at the bottom of a deep valley.
  • En route meet local Khasi villagers in Mawshamok, Tyrna, Umsohphie, and Nongthymmai.
  • See the longest Living Root Bridge, Double Decker Root Bridge, and go for a swim in the natural swimming pool.
  • The trek is about 3 to 4 hours.
  • In the evening get together and cultural interaction with the villagers of Nongriat.
  • Overnight stay at Cherrapunji.
  • Trek downhill for about 3 / 4 hours to reach the foothills adjacent to the Bangladesh border to Dalia a Garo Village.
  • Meet the village head, you will be escorted by him through the village.
  • The chief will explain their customs/ traditions and daily life of the Garos.
  • Garos are one of the three tribes of Meghalaya, the Khasis, Garos, and Jaintias. These Garos have migrated to Khasi hills and are settled for long there.
  • Overnight stay at Cherrapunji.
  • After breakfast drive to Guwahati airport ( 05 hrs drive), for onward destination.

The trip was really smooth and support provided during accomodation was tremendous. Last but not least the driver who guided us throughout the trip Mr. Aijul Khan never seen such a humble person who helped us smooth transition to all the spot.
Couldn't cover couple of places like Dawki and shillong peak that could have bee (Read More)n managed better.

Over all trip is well planned and well executed. Sohra resort stay was so good (Read More), staff response, hospitality, food all are very good., cab driver guided very well. Sizra supported very well throughout the trip and even arranged for extension for room.
Cab comfort could be better, seats are not recliner seat. Tree tops residency (Read More)stay is not good, in adequate manpower and poor response
