Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive in Guwahati and Transfer to Shillong
- Arrive at Guwahati airport.
- Transfer to Shillong (100 km / 2 ½ hrs drive).
- En route stop at the scenic viewpoint of the Umiam lake (the largest manmade lake in Northeast India).
- On arrival in Shillong check in to the hotel.
- After refreshments, explore the local night markets of Shillong.
- Overnight stay at Shillong.
Day 2 Shillong to Cherrapunji
- Drive to Mawphlang Sacred forest ( 35 km / 02 hrs drive).
- Then start the trek known as David Scot Trail for 06 hrs.
- Reach Mawladh.
- You will be picked up and taken to Cherrapunji.
- Check in to the hotel.
- Spend the evening at leisure.
- Overnight stay at Cherrapunji.
Day 3 Explore Cherrapunji
- After breakfast trek the single Decker Bridge (03 hrs trek).
- Later explore the local sightseeing of Cherrapunji.
- Drive back to the hotel.
- Overnight stay at Cherrapunji.
Day 4 Trek to Nongriat Village
- After breakfast trek to Nongriat village, a War-Khasi village situated at the bottom of a deep valley.
- En route meet local Khasi villagers in Mawshamok, Tyrna, Umsohphie, and Nongthymmai.
- See the longest Living Root Bridge, Double Decker Root Bridge, and go for a swim in the natural swimming pool.
- The trek is about 3 to 4 hours.
- In the evening get together and cultural interaction with the villagers of Nongriat.
- Overnight stay at Cherrapunji.
Day 5 Trek to Garo Village
- Trek downhill for about 3 / 4 hours to reach the foothills adjacent to the Bangladesh border to Dalia a Garo Village.
- Meet the village head, you will be escorted by him through the village.
- The chief will explain their customs/ traditions and daily life of the Garos.
- Garos are one of the three tribes of Meghalaya, the Khasis, Garos, and Jaintias. These Garos have migrated to Khasi hills and are settled for long there.
- Overnight stay at Cherrapunji.
Day 6 Departure
- After breakfast drive to Guwahati airport ( 05 hrs drive), for onward destination.

They were in contact for initial few days and asking about how everything is goi (Read More)ng and feedback.
Hotel room in Shillong could have been better. It was very disturbing in weekend (Read More) nights for a family personal. Also Deluxe room provided was very small. Most importantly driver in Shillong must be more professional.
Also it is advised that a tourist must be guided properly before commencing of the trip accordingly so that no last moment confusion happened.

Better and Organised plan. In 6 days we have visited Chirapunjee , Dawki and Sh (Read More)illong .Good and Comfortable Stay. Plan is completely worth for the cost
But somedays we didn't visit all the places in the plan. We missed one or two.
