Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Nairobi and Transfer to Meru National Park

Welcome to Kenya! After landing at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be driven to Meru National Park, a little-known treasure among Safari Tours in Kenya destinations.
The five to six-hour drive passes through beautiful scenery. After arriving, have lunch and settle into your Ikweta Safari Camp. Take a first game drive in the afternoon to discover the park’s varied wildlife. Overnight stay in camp.
Joy Adamson’s book Born Free, in which she narrates her life and research among lions and cheetahs—including the well-known lioness Elsa, whose burial is marked inside the park—is also well known for having been set there.

Spend the day exploring Meru National Park, one of Kenya's most untouched destinations for safari tours. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, spotting animals such as Elephants, Grevy’s zebras, lions, cheetahs, leopards, hartebeests, hippos, buffaloes, and reticulated giraffes are among the many animal species that call the park home.

One of the best places in the world to see rhinos in the wild is Meru, which is home to endangered black and white rhinos that are kept under constant watch. Fish, crocodiles, and hippos flourish in the waterways. And various bird species such as Peter’s finfoot, Pel’s fishing owl, kingfishers, rollers, bee-eaters, starlings, and weavers. Dinner and overnight at the Camp.

Today, after breakfast, Safari Tours in Kenya takes you to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a leading example of successful wildlife conservation. The journey takes about 4-5 hours. After checking into Serena Sweetwater’s Camp, enjoy lunch and an afternoon game drive. Overnight stay in camp
The Conservancy has an outstanding variety of animals, including Chimpanzees and the Big 5: Thompson’s gazelle, Black-Backed Jackals, Ostriches, Grant’s gazelle, baboons, waterbuck, oryx, eland, and several bird species.

We travel to Lake Nakuru National Park, a popular stop on many safari tours in Kenya, after breakfast. Three to four hours are needed for the drive. After arriving, have lunch and check into Sarova Lion Hill Lodge.

Take a game drive around the lake in the afternoon, Among the interesting places to explore are the Mau escarpment, Baboon Cliff, and Lion Hill. Magnificent pink flamingos and an array of animals, such as rhinos, lions, waterbucks, impalas, and leopards, are the highlights of Lake Nakuru. At the lodge for dinner and the night.

After breakfast, depart Lake Nakuru and go toward the well-known Maasai Mara National Reserve, the pride of Safari Tours in Kenya. After a quick stopover in Narok town for a bathroom break, you will arrive at Mara Sopa Lodge for lunch.

Take a game drive in the afternoon over the enormous grasslands of the Maasai Mara, home to the Great Migration. Head back to the lodge for dinner and a restful night.

Pick your picnic lunchboxes and explore Maasai Mara after an early breakfast. Game drives in the morning and afternoon are included in your safari tours in Kenya. Depending on the season, see the Great Migration and enjoy seeing lions, elephants, cheetahs, and other bird species. Take in the breathtaking views and distinctive wildlife of the Mara—dinner and overnight at the lodge.

After breakfast, we drive back to Nairobi, concluding your incredible journey through some of the best destinations for safari tours in Kenya. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for last-minute shopping or a city tour before being transferred to the airport for your departure flight.

Memorable Kenya trip

Sapna Kapur's Trip to Kenya

5 /5

(Written on 11 Jul, 2025)

What's Good: Everything went smooth and was detailed. Communication was flawless. The experience was seamless and well organised. Our guide Ben was fantastic and knowledgable so we feel we made (Read More) a friend in Kenya too. James was superb in helping us plan the trip and with suggestions for stay. All in all it was such a special vacation and I can’t wait to explore more of Africa. People are great ! So warm and friendly and what a truly blessed country with so much nature and wildlife. I would highly recommend Wild Portraits and James and Ben for your travel to Kenya.
What's Not Good: please be careful while entering the country at immigration - make sure your passport is stamped. We had some issue with this. Can’t complain about anything else. It was beyond our expectations.

What's Good: The responsiveness of Christine (person overall responsible for arrangements)and knowledge from Evance (our driver and guide for national parks)about national parks was excellent. (Read More) We stayed and covered Nairobi, Masai, Naivasha and Daini.. All stays and safaris were perfect could not have asked for better.
What's Not Good: We chose Van but we think land cruiser would have been a better option especially for being comfortable in muddy terrains.

Ajith's Trip to Kenya

5 /5

(Written on 03 Mar, 2025)

What's Good: After screening and talking to about 5 travel operators, I decided to go with Nature Romp for an 8 day safari in Kenya. Their rate was competitive and selection of lodges to stay v (Read More)ery good. Initially I was skeptical due to less reviews about Nature Romp in public domain. However when I talked to Yvonne, I understood that theirs is a fairly new company and decided to go with them. We (my daughter and I) opted for a private tour covering Masai Mara, Nakuru and Amboseli. We were received at the airport and the next day Yvonne, Lucy and Maxwell (guide cum driver) welcomed us at the hotel, early morning of the Safari start. We instantly felt at home and from then onwards it was a memorable trip. Our guide Maxwell is an excellent guide. He knew about birds and animals, their behavior and diligent in driving. He was always on time.
What's Not Good: Nothing in particular. Only one stay (at Naivasha) could have been closer to the national park. It was nevertheless a good place but not great for bird photography
