Day 1 Arrival in Arusha - Trek to Marangu Hut
  • Begin your day with breakfast at your Arusha hotel.
  • Your adventure starts with a 2-hour drive from Arusha to Marangu Gate.
  • Along the way, keep an eye out for Colobus Monkeys as you hike through the rainforest.
  • The day's trek covers a distance of approximately 8 kilometres and takes 3-4 hours.
  • Reach an altitude of 2,700 meters.
  • Enjoy lunch and dinner and overnight stay at Marangu Hut.
  • After a night's rest and breakfast at Marangu Hut, prepare for the day.
  • Hike approximately 12 kilometres, taking around 2-3 hours.
  • Begin in the rainforest and transition to the Moorland Zone.
  • Lunch is provided during the trek.
  • Get glimpses of Kibo and Mawenzi, two of Kilimanjaro's volcanic peaks.
  • Reach an altitude of 3,720 meters by day's end.
  • Have a nourishing dinner at Horombo Hut.
  • Begin your day with breakfast at Horombo Hut.
  • Trek approximately 9 kilometres, a journey lasting about 5-7 hours.
  • Transition through the Alpine desert Zone, where water sources become scarce.
  • Lunch is provided during the trek.
  • Reach an altitude of 4,700 meters.
  • Dinner and your overnight stay will be at Kibo Hut.
  • Wake up at 2:30 AM for an early start; this will be the most challenging night.
  • Begin your trek to Gilman's Point, where you may encounter snow on the way up to Uhuru Peak.
  • During the summit push, you'll have some snacks and energy supplements to keep you fueled.
  • After reaching Uhuru Peak, celebrate your achievement and take in the incredible views while enjoying a packed lunch.
  • Descend for approximately 15 kilometres, which typically takes about 16 hours.
  • Return to Horombo Hut and have dinner and spend overnight.
  • Start your day with breakfast at Horombo Hut.
  • Begin your descent back to Marangu Gate, passing through different environments.
  • Enjoy a packed lunch during the trek.
  • Arrive at Marangu Gate to collect your summit certificates.
  • Your driver will be waiting to take you to the airport or your Arusha hotel, concluding your journey.
