Day 1: Machame Camp
  • Start trekking at Machame Gate (1,640m) and hike through the rainforest to reach Machame Camp (2,835m)
  • Hike from Machame Camp to Shira Camp (3,750m) via the steep ridge of Shira Plateau.
  • Hike from Shira Camp to Barranco Camp (3,976m) via Lava Tower (4,640m).
  • Hike from Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (3,995m), through the scenic Barranco Wall and Karanga Valley.
  • Hike from Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4,673m), a steep and challenging ascent.
  • Start hiking early in the morning from Barafu Camp to the summit of Kilimanjaro (5,895m) and descend to Mweka Camp (3,068m).
  • Descend from Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate (1,640m) and transfer back to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha.
