Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Nairobi - Candle-Light Dinner

Your adventure begins at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
Upon arrival, you'll be warmly greeted by our airport representative.
You will be transferred to your pre-booked Nairobi Hotel.
Enjoy your first night with a romantic candle-light dinner in the hotel.
Overnight stay in Nairobi.

Day 2 Transfer to Meru National Park - Afternoon Game Drive

Your journey starts with an early breakfast and 6:30 AM pick-up from the hotel.
Embark on an exciting road trip to Meru National Park via the Murera Gate, covering a distance of 348 kilometers.
Arrive at the chosen lodge, where you'll savor a delicious lunch before diving into your first adventure.
The afternoon game drive, scheduled between 4 PM to 6 PM, promises thrilling wildlife sightings.
As the sun sets, return to your lodge/camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3 Meru - Bushwalk, Stargazing, & Overnight Stay

Breakfast at the accommodation.
Choose between an invigorating bushwalk in the wilderness or an extended game drive with a delightful picnic lunch.
Indulge in a romantic stargazing session amidst the serene Meru night sky.
Return to the lodge for dinner and another night in Meru.

Day 4 Transfer to Samburu - Game Drives & Overnight Stay

Start the day with an early sunrise game drive for wildlife enthusiasts.
After the morning adventure, have breakfast and check out.
Leave Meru National Park and head to Samburu National Reserve for the next exciting part of your journey.
Check in at your chosen lodge in Samburu, take a short rest, and prepare for an evening game drive.
The reserve's Ewaso Nyiro River attracts a wealth of wildlife.
After an eventful game drive, return to the lodge for dinner and a restful night.

Day 5 Samburu - Game Drive, Optional Activities, Bush Dinner, & Overnight Stay

Begin your day with a delicious breakfast at the lodge.
Your guide will prepare a picnic lunch for a full day of extensive game viewing.
Pause for a picnic lunch within the reserve and continue your wildlife exploration.
In the afternoon, you can choose to interact with the local community through a Village Visit or enjoy an exciting Camel Ride. (optional)

Day 6 Transfer to Ol Pejeta - Game Drive & Chimpanzee Sanctuary Visit

After breakfast, leave Samburu and head to Sweetwaters/Ol Pejeta Conservancy.
Arrive, check in and have a delicious lunch at your accommodation.
In the afternoon, enjoy an exciting game drive, including a visit to the famous Ol Pejeta Chimpanzee Sanctuary.

Day 7 Ol Pejeta Conservancy - Game Drive & Overnight Stay

Spend a full day until 3 PM exploring Sweetwaters, a privately-owned conservancy that overlooks the towering peaks of Mount Kenya.

Day 8 Transfer to Aberdare National Park - Full Day Game Drive

Just went for 8 day safari with James and Wild Portraits Safaris...it was spot o (Read More)n perfect. Reasons 1.Clear communication and replies always comes very quickly on WhatsApp. 2. Very genuine with suggestions and doesn't do things as a job or formality. 3. James is very knowledgeable. 4. The enthusiasm and passion shown by James was just so infectious. 5. The planning of itinerary takes care of all the finer details. 6. They really take care of your focus and they don't try to sell anything you are not interested in. For example we skipped the village visit because we didn't see value in it. 7. Quite flexible and adjusts as things progress.

Everything went smooth and was detailed. Communication was flawless. The experie (Read More)nce was seamless and well organised. Our guide Ben was fantastic and knowledgable so we feel we made a friend in Kenya too. James was superb in helping us plan the trip and with suggestions for stay. All in all it was such a special vacation and I can’t wait to explore more of Africa. People are great ! So warm and friendly and what a truly blessed country with so much nature and wildlife. I would highly recommend Wild Portraits and James and Ben for your travel to Kenya.

please be careful while entering the country at immigration - make sure your pas (Read More)sport is stamped. We had some issue with this. Can’t complain about anything else. It was beyond our expectations.

The responsiveness of Christine (person overall responsible for arrangements)and (Read More) knowledge from Evance (our driver and guide for national parks)about national parks was excellent. We stayed and covered Nairobi, Masai, Naivasha and Daini.. All stays and safaris were perfect could not have asked for better.

We chose Van but we think land cruiser would have been a better option especiall (Read More)y for being comfortable in muddy terrains.

After screening and talking to about 5 travel operators, I decided to go with Na (Read More)ture Romp for an 8 day safari in Kenya. Their rate was competitive and selection of lodges to stay very good. Initially I was skeptical due to less reviews about Nature Romp in public domain. However when I talked to Yvonne, I understood that theirs is a fairly new company and decided to go with them. We (my daughter and I) opted for a private tour covering Masai Mara, Nakuru and Amboseli. We were received at the airport and the next day Yvonne, Lucy and Maxwell (guide cum driver) welcomed us at the hotel, early morning of the Safari start. We instantly felt at home and from then onwards it was a memorable trip. Our guide Maxwell is an excellent guide. He knew about birds and animals, their behavior and diligent in driving. He was always on time.

Nothing in particular. Only one stay (at Naivasha) could have been closer to the (Read More) national park. It was nevertheless a good place but not great for bird photography
