Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Nairobi, Visit Giraffe Centre

Welcome to your tour! Your representative greets you at the 'meeting point at the exit after immigration and customs.
On arrival, embark on a city tour covering the colourful City Market, Parliament Buildings and the Railway Station.
Proceed on a visit to the Giraffe Centre, a unique setting where you can feed giraffes.
Overnight in Nairobi (Breakfast at Hotel, Dinner at an Indian Restaurant.)

Day 2 Transfer to Aberdare National Park, Game Drive

This morning, set off for your forest lodge located on the slopes of the Aberdare Mountains.
Spend the rest of the day game viewing from the lodge's terrace overlooking a water hole floodlit by night.
Elephant, Rhino, Leopard, Bushbuck and occasionally an elusive Bongo and giant forest Hog can be sighted.
Your Tree Lodge is designed with observation decks from which numerous balconies and lounges provide superb vantage points for game viewing.
Overnight in Aberdares (Breakfast at the Hotel's Restaurant, Lunch at the Lodge's Restaurant & Dinner at the Lodge's Restaurant)

Day 3 Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park, Afternoon Game Drive

Drive via Nyahururu to the picturesque Lake Nakuru National Park, the home of millions of Fuschia pink flamingos, pelicans, cormorants and other birds.
The eastern and western shores are framed by ridges that offer splendid lookouts over the lake: Lion Hill, Baboon Cliff and Out of Africa.
On arrival, check into your Safari Lodge.
In the afternoon, enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Nakuru National Park, an ornithologist's paradise offering a spectacular view of millions of flamingos. It is also home to rhino, lion, leopard, buffalo and numerous species of plain game.
Look out for temperamental Black Rhinos browsing in the bushes and larger white Rhinos cropping grass along the lakeside.
Nowhere else will you get a photo of Rhinos with a backdrop of pink Flamingos sifting food from the shimmering Lake.

Day 4 Transfer to Masai Mara Game Reserve, Game Drive

This morning drive via the township of Narok - the heart of Masai land to the Masai Mara National Game Reserve, a wildlife goldmine.
Upon arrival, check into your Safari Lodge. Masai Mara Game Reserve is famous worldwide for its staggering variety of wildlife and seasonal wildebeest migrations.
After lunch at your lodge, embark on a thrilling afternoon game drive.
The plains are full of wildebeest, zebra, impala, topi, giraffe and Thomson's gazelle. Also regularly seen are Leopards, Elephants, Lions, Hyenas, Cheetah, Hippos, Jackal, large Nile Crocodiles and bat-eared foxes. Overnight in Masai Mara. (Breakfast at the Lodge's Restaurant, Lunch at the Lodge's Restaurant & Dinner at the Lodge's Restaurant)

Day 5 Masai Mara Game Reserve, Spot Big Five

You can start your day by rising before dawn for a spectacular Hot Air Balloon Ride, followed by a bubbly bush breakfast as an optional tour.
Spend your day game viewing in the reserve where you can spot Africa's 'Big Five' - Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino and the Cape Buffalo. See some stunning savannah landscapes as you go on this game drive in a vehicle with a pop-up roof.
Overnight in Masai Mara. (Breakfast at the Lodge's Restaurant, Lunch at the Lodge's Restaurant & Dinner at the Lodge's Restaurant)

Day 6 Depart from Nairobi, Tour Ends

Good times need never end! As you get ready for the airport and your flight back home, relive the high points of your tour.

Among the competition, James stood out due to his exceptional patience, politene (Read More)ss, and genuine curiosity displayed during our initial phone calls. James swiftly emerged as the singular operator I wished to proceed with, and here’s why: - Having substantial on-ground experience from spending extensive time on the safaris himself, he adeptly crafted a honeymoon package that perfectly suited my wife and me. - He adeptly navigated our budget flexibilities and constraints to arrange an impressive array of delightful lodges and activities, focusing on maximising our day-to-day adventures, ensuring each day on safari and at the lodges offered a unique experience. - A skilled photographer himself, James's comprehensive knowledge of various reserves and animal behaviours provided him with a distinct advantage in predicting animal locations and optimal times for photography, whether capturing sunrises, sunsets, or other moments. - Our priority was to maximise game time and reserve experiences. James made certain our vehicle was ready, complete with packed hot breakfast boxes, for a prompt 6 AM departure every morning of the trip. - Remarkably patient, he addressed all my queries, irrespective of whether they seemed 'silly' or insightful—from 'what to wear' at safaris, potential places to explore, to the animals we might encounter. In summary, my wife and I enjoyed an extraordinary experience in Kenya, with Wild Portraits Safaris significantly enhancing the quality of that journey.
