Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive in Guwahati - Transfer to Shillong
- Arrive at Guwahati airport.
- Visit Kamakhya temple, Umananda Temple.
- Drive to Shillong (120kms / 3 hrs drive).
- En route stop at the scenic viewpoint of Umiam Lake (the largest manmade lake in Northeast India).
- On arrival in Shillong, check in to the hotel.
- Overnight stay at Shillong.
Day 2 Explore Shillong - Visit Police Bazaar
- After breakfast visit Shillong Peak, Cathedral, Ward’s Lake, Lady Hydari Park, Don Bosco Museum.
- Later explore Police Bazar.
- Spend the evening at leisure.
- Overnight stay in Shillong.
Day 3 Transfer to Cherrapunji - Visit Elephant Falls
- After breakfast drive to Cherrapunji (56 km / 02 hrs drive).
- On the way visit Elephant falls.
- Drive further to Cherrapunji.
- In Cherrapunji visit Mawdok Valley Viewpoint, Seven Sister Falls, the Nohkalikai Falls (the fourth highest falls in the world), Mawsmai Cave, Dainthlen Falls, and Krem Falls.
- After exploring for the day check into Jiva resort and relax.
- Spend the evening at leisure.
- Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.
Day 4 Transfer to Shillong via Mawlynnong - Boat Ride in Umngot River
- After breakfast, drive to Mawlynnong (110 kms / 03 hrs drive).
- Explore the village and also trek for 10 min to visit the Single Decker Living Root Bridge in Riwai village.
- Also, visit The Dawki (Indo – Bangla Border).
- Later go for a boat ride in the Umngot River (the crystal clear river).
- After a day-long excursion, return to Shillong.
- Overnight stay in Shillong.
- Note: During monsoon season, the Umngot River won’t be crystal clear.
Day 5 Depart from Guwahati
- Drive to Guwahati airport for onward destination.
- Sightseeing can be done depending on flight timing and interest.

I had booked 7D trip to Meghalaya. Driver and Sedan car provided was good.
Out (Read More) of the three stays,
First one - Woodland hill stay at Shillong was like a home stay accommodation with limited meal option and complimentary breakfast was just one item. Food was ok.
Second one - Riverside resort at Cherapunjee was like a hotel stay but very limited meal option and the location of the resort is far away from main road and the connection roads were not that good. Complimentary breakfast is just ok ok type with one main item.
Third one - Treetops residency at Shillong was like a typical hotel stay with good meal option. complimentary breakfast is good with two items. In addition, so many hotels are near police bazar (shillong) where we can try different cuisines.
Driver took us to the places as mentioned in itinerary for the first 4 days.
Remaining 3 days, driver told the tourist spots mentioned in the itinerary are n (Read More)ot that great and took us only to two places. As per the information provided upfront, parking fee is part of the package whereas during the travel, driver paid parking fee only in few areas and we paid in most of the spots. A clear communication about parking fee should have been provided to the driver and travels contact person should ensure that tourist spot visit as per itinerary is happening on daily basis. Since we were from Southern part of India, we were little hesitant to speak out and had language barrier to ask the same to driver.

The sightseeing schedule was planned perfectly.

I got to plan my visit to Meghalaya and cherapunji with my family. I got a custo (Read More)mised plan from Onn tour vacation (Debashree Dutt) as per my ask. The trip was really smooth and support provided during accomodation was tremendous. Last but not least the driver who guided us throughout the trip Mr. Aijul Khan never seen such a humble person who helped us smooth transition to all the spot.
Couldn't cover couple of places like Dawki and shillong peak that could have bee (Read More)n managed better.
