Day 1 Guwahati to Shillong (120 kms/ 3 hrs)
Arrival at Guwahati and Transfer to Shillong: Arrive at Guwahati airport, where you will meet your driver and start your journey to Shillong. En route, stop at Umium Lake for a photo opportunity, capturing the serene beauty of this picturesque spot.

Explore Shillong: Reach Shillong in the afternoon and begin your local sightseeing tour. Visit Ward's Lake, a beautiful man-made lake surrounded by lush gardens, perfect for a leisurely walk. Explore the nearby Catholic Church, one of the prominent landmarks of Shillong.

Evening Market Walk: In the evening, take a walking tour of the local market in Shillong. This is a great opportunity to experience the vibrant culture of the region and shop for local handicrafts.

Overnight Stay: Return to your hotel in Shillong for an overnight stay.

Transfer to Cherrapunjee: After breakfast, begin your drive to Cherrapunjee, famously known as the wettest place on Earth. The journey of 60 km will take about 1½ hours.

Visit Mawdok Viewpoints: On the way, stop at Mawdok viewpoints to admire the stunning views of the valley. This is a great spot for photography and to enjoy the natural beauty of the region.

Explore Wah Kaba Waterfall: Continue your journey with a visit to Wah Kaba Waterfall, a scenic spot where you can witness the powerful cascades and the lush surroundings.

Sightseeing in Cherrapunjee: Upon arrival in Cherrapunjee, visit the Garden of Caves, a beautiful area filled with natural caves and waterfalls. Start the Trek: After breakfast, embark on a day trip to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge. Start your trek from Tyrna Village, the gateway to this natural wonder.

Explore Dawki Village: Continue your journey towards Dawki, a village close to the India-Bangladesh border. Dawki is renowned for the crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River. Enjoy the surreal experience of seeing the transparent river bed and take a boat ride to fully appreciate the beauty of the river.

Overnight Stay: After a day of exploration, check into your accommodation in Shnongpdeng for an overnight stay.
Visit Mawphlang Village: After breakfast, head to Mawphlang Village, known for its Sacred Groves and the Khasi Sacred Forest, which holds great significance for nature lovers. Visit the Khasi Heritage Village to learn about the traditional lifestyle of the Khasi Tribe.

What's Good: I really enjoyed how well-organized the trip was. Kamaha vacations took care of all the details, from airport transfers to hotel bookings and guided tours. It made the entire exper (Read More)ience stress-free. I also appreciated the knowledgeable local guides they provided—they gave us deeper insight into Thai culture and history.Everything ran smoothly, and I felt like I was able to truly relax and enjoy Thailand without worrying about logistics.
What's Not Good: Overall, the trip was enjoyable. The resorts although 5*, it had chances of serving better. The location of the hotels were good but could have been better as well.That said, I still appreciated the overall planning and support from the agency.

Our trip to Bangkok, Krabi and Phuket was meticulously planned by Kamaha staff. Pickups were prompt right from the airport and a daily reminder of the next days activities would be sent by WhatsApp in (Read More) advance. The hotels were located right in the happening places and making it very convenient to move about in the evenings. I would definitely approach Kamaha team for my next vacations too... !!!
