Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Gorakhpur and Drive to Kathmandu
Upon arrival, meet at the Gorakhpur Railway Station/airport and drive to Kathmandu, which is approximately a 10-hour drive from Gorakhpur. Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, is the political and cultural heart of the Kingdom, with the Kathmandu Valley encompassing both Patan and Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to the hotel for an overnight stay.

This morning, you will be taken to the Hindu culture in Nepal, Pashupatinath. Here, holy saddhus pray, and cremations are carried out on the Bagmati River. We then continue to the holiest shrine for the Buddhist culture in Nepal, Bouddhanath, with its large stupa. This is the place where all devout Buddhists come for a pilgrimage.

Then, continue; you will be taken on a visit to Patan. Also known as Lalitpur, the city of beauty is separated from Kathmandu only by the Bagmati River and is the second-largest town in the valley. Lalitpur is fragmented from other cities due to its substantive architectural ancient masterpieces.

Patan's central Durbar Square is packed with temples: It’s an architectural center point with a far greater concentration of temples per sq. meter than in Kathamandu or Bhaktapur.

The Tibetan refugee center also lies within the city, home to most of the valley's Tibetan population. While technically refugees, the Tibetans are some of the wealthiest people in the valley because of the carpet industry they operate. This is the place to shop for those looking to bring home a fine Tibetan carpet.

You will then go to Swayambhunath. The golden spire of the 5th-century Swayambhu stupa is adorned with a colorful fluttering of prayer flags. It crowns a hill overlooking the Kathmandu Valley and offers fantastic views over the city of Kathmandu. Swayambhunath is one of the most recognizable symbols in Nepal, and the painted eyes of Buddha watch all who ascend the worn stone steps.

After checking out of the hotel, drive to Pokhara, about a 7-hour journey from Kathmandu. Along the way, you can take a cable car ride to Manakamana Temple (at an additional cost). Upon arrival in Pokhara, transfer to the hotel for an overnight stay.

On this day, you will visit Bindebasini Temple. This is one of the oldest temples in Pokhara and was a part of the Kaski Kingdom. The temple's main deity, Goddess Durga, was brought from India . Apart from the peace and tranquility that can be felt in this region, the temple's premises offer a good view of the Himalayas on a clear day.

The temple is in the area of the bazaar; hence, a journey to the old bazaar can be combined with a visit to the temple. Sightseeing Devi’s Fall, also known as Patale Chango, is an incredible waterfall 2 km southwest of Pokhara. During summer and rainy seasons, the waterfall takes its natural form, with gushing water splashing and passing through the rocks. Just opposite Devi’s fall, on the other side of the road, there is Gupteshwor Cave. This cave is famous for the different natural forms made from limestone deposits. Photography is strictly prohibited inside the cave.

Then, continue. You will visit Mahendra cave, a large limestone cave. It is a rare example of a cave system in Nepal containing stalagmites and stalactites. This show cave attracts thousands of tourists every year. A statue of Hindu lord Shiva can be found inside the cave. Next, visit Bat Cave. It is known for its habitat of Horseshoe bats inside the cave, over the walls and ceiling. The cave is formed of limestone. Then, go to the Seti River.

The Seti originates from the snow fields and glaciers around the twin peaks of Api and Nampa in the south-facing slopes of the central Himalayas. The area is near the trijunction of the borders of Nepal, India (Kumaon, Uttarakhand), and China (Tibet). After that, you will go to the International Mountain Museum. Mountains and mountaineering have a history of their own.

Check out of the hotel and drive to Lumbini, approximately an 8-9-hour drive from Pokhara. Located in the southern Terai region of Nepal, Lumbini is the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel for an overnight stay.  For millions of Buddhists the world over, it evokes a kind of holy sentiment akin to the significance of Jerusalem to Christians and Mecca to Muslims

This morning, you will visit Lumbini Garden, which consists of various Bodh Vihars built by different countries, such as Japan, Myanmar, Indonesia, and the USA, to establish the Buddhist religion in the Garden. You will tour by rickshaw for 3 hours at your own cost. Later, check out from the hotel and drive to Gorakhpur Railway station/ airport (approx. 03 hrs) for an onward journey to India. The tour ends with lifetime memories.
