Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Srinagar and Local Sightseeing
  • Arrival at the Srinagar International Airport, pickup by our representative.
    From the airport it is a 35 minutes drive through the heart of New Srinagar city.
  • The drive takes you past the Abdullah bridge which connects the banks of the Jhelum river, snaking its way towards the North-Western frontier of Kashmir.
  • Proceed for a half a day tour of local sightseeing.
  • Visit the famous Mughal Gardens of Nishat and Shalimar.
    Built in between a period of 14 years, the two gardens are a heritage left behind by the erstwhile Mughals. With a backdrop of the sprawling Zabarwan mountains, the gardens boast of green turfs, blooming flowers and cascading water fountains.
  • Later, dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.
  • After breakfast in the morning, begin the country tour towards Gulmarg.
    The drive past colorful villages and rice fields, gives you an insight of the rich cultural past of Kashmir.
  • Arrive at a small picturesue market town of Tangmarg.
  • After a short pause, drive ahead on a scenic drive of 14 kilometers to Gulmarg.
  • Arrive in Gulmarg early in the afternoon and begin a short tour around the meadows.
  • Enjoy the cable ride and pony ride in Gulmarg.
  • In the evening, return to Srinagar.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at Srinagar hotel.
  • Begin the trip towards Pahalgam and drive on the National Highway 1A.
    This road connects the Valley to the rest of the country.
  • Drive past the saffron fields of Pampore, the marvellous ruins of Avantipura and the village of Bijbehara which is famous as the bread basket of Kashmir.
    You can even sample a few exotic breads sold by vendors near the road.
  • Drive from the national highway at Khanabal and through the second largest city of Anantnag.
    From here the road turns scenic as we drive parallel on the Lidder river flowing from the opposite direction.
  • In Pahalgam, check-in to the hotel.
  • Later, go for nature walks to unwind and relax.
  • Overnight stay in hotel.
  • After breakfast, start for Sonamarg.
  • Explore the breathtaking locales around the city. 
  • Enroute stop at certain scenic spots and then continue driving to Sonar, also called the Meadow of Gold.
  • Take a look at the Thajiwas Glacier and take pictures.
  • After the Sonamarg expedition, drive back to Srinagar.
  • In the evening, return to your hotel/houseboat.
  • After a late morning breakfast, drive to the airport for your flight home.
  • On your way to the airport, you can make a brief stopover for some last minute shopping in the city center. 
  • Drop at the airport for onward journey.

We had a wonderful experience touring with Alpather. We went to Srinagar just 1 (Read More) week after the Pahalgam attack. Madam gave us the courage to visit Kashmir They were very keen to know if we had any problem and was very caring. Accomodation was super, food at the hotel breakfast and dinner was too good. The driver Yawar was also very helpful and a very safe driver. They will get 10/10 for their service.If you want to visit KASHMIR just contact Alpather and they will do the rest.
