Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu - Transfer to Hotel
Your Everest Base Camp journey begins with your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. You’ll be greeted warmly by our airport representative with a khada—a traditional Tibetan/Nepali ceremonial scarf—and escorted to your hotel. After check-in, you can rest or take a casual stroll around the bustling Thamel streets nearby. In the evening, there’s a pre-trip meeting where you’ll meet your trekking guide and get a detailed trek briefing, covering preparations and safety guidelines.
Overnight stay: Hotel in Kathmandu
 Meal: Breakfast
After early breakfast, you’ll transfer to Kathmandu’s domestic terminal for a 30–40 min scenic flight to Lukla, home of the legendary Tenzing Hillary Airport. On arrival, you meet your trekking crew and begin the trail, an easy descent crossing suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River, passing lush villages and scenic landscapes. After a few hours, you’ll reach Phakding.
Note: Himalayan weather is unpredictable; Lukla flights can face delays or cancellations. If so, we will shift the Kathmandu sightseeing (planned for Day 14) to this day.
Overnight stay: Teahouse/Guesthouse in Phakding
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Fuel up with breakfast and continue toward the lively mountain town of Namche Bazaar. You’ll follow the Dudh Koshi River, cross suspension bridges adorned with prayer flags, and trek through pine forests. Enter Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and spot your first distant views of Everest. A final steep ascent brings you to Namche, a vibrant Sherpa town full of colorful shops, bakeries, and Himalayan charm.
Overnight stay: Teahouse/Guesthouse in Namche Bazaar
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Today is an acclimatization day to help your body adjust to altitude. Explore Namche, known as the “Gateway to Everest,” with its cafés, bakeries, shops, and even Wi-Fi. You’ll take a short acclimatization hike to Everest View Hotel for stunning panoramas of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and more. Optional visits include the Sherpa Culture Museum or the Sagarmatha National Park Visitor Center.
Overnight stay: Teahouse/Guesthouse in Namche Bazaar
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Today’s scenic trek offers breathtaking Himalayan vistas. Leaving Namche, the trail descends to the Dudh Koshi River before climbing through rhododendron and pine forests. Keep an eye out for musk deer and Himalayan birds. By afternoon, you’ll reach Tengboche, home to the iconic Tengboche Monastery. You’ll visit the monastery and, if lucky (in October/November), witness the Mani Rimdu Festival with masked dances and spiritual ceremonies.
Overnight stay: Teahouse/Guesthouse in Tengboche
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast, the trail descends through rhododendron forests and crosses a suspension bridge over the Imja Khola. Ascending past Pangboche village, you’ll enter a striking alpine landscape with fewer trees and expansive valleys. Mount Ama Dablam’s towering, beautiful peak dominates the view. Arriving in Dingboche, you’ll notice the stone-walled fields shielding crops from Himalayan winds.
Overnight stay: Teahouse/Guesthouse in Dingboche
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
This second acclimatization day is crucial for preparing your body for higher elevations. You’ll take a rewarding side hike up Nangkartshang Hill (approx. 400 m ascent), offering jaw-dropping views of Mount Ama Dablam and the distant Mount Makalu (8,463 m). The panoramas here are picture-perfect and an ideal spot for photos. After the hike, return to Dingboche for relaxation.
Overnight stay: Teahouse/Guesthouse in Dingboche
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
The trail gradually ascends over rocky, alpine terrain as you head toward Lobuche, located at the foot of Lobuche Peak. Enjoy stunning views of Taboche and Cholatse, two impressive peaks rising dramatically above the valley. As you climb higher, the air gets thinner—remember to hydrate and take it slow. Arriving at Lobuche, you’re now nearing Everest Base Camp.
Overnight stay: Teahouse/Guesthouse in Lobuche
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Today is the ultimate highlight! After an early breakfast, trek to Gorak Shep along a rocky trail with spectacular views of Mount Pumori, Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Nuptse. After a short break at Gorak Shep, continue to Everest Base Camp. Standing here, at the foot of the world’s tallest mountain, you’ll feel an overwhelming sense of achievement. After taking in the epic views and celebrating, retrace your steps back to Gorak Shep for the night.
Overnight stay: Teahouse/Guesthouse in Gorak Shep
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
An early morning climb takes you to Kala Patthar, a famous viewpoint offering one of the best panoramic views of Everest and surrounding giants like Pumori, Lingtren, Khumbutse, Lhotse, Nuptse, Cho Oyu, and Ama Dablam. As the sun rises over the Himalayas, the scenery is unforgettable. After soaking in the sunrise, return to Gorak Shep for breakfast and then descend to the village of Pheriche.
Overnight stay: Teahouse/Guesthouse in Pheriche
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast in Pheriche, you begin the long but scenic descent. The trail passes through Pangboche and Tengboche, retracing the earlier route with familiar landmarks, forests, and mountain views. You’ll cross the Dudh Koshi River and ascend the final stretch to Namche Bazaar, where a warm shower and perhaps a bakery treat await. The lower altitude makes breathing easier, and you’ll feel the difference!
Overnight stay: Teahouse/Guesthouse in Namche Bazaar
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Today is the final trekking day! You descend steeply to the suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi, passing through small villages like Phakding. The terrain flattens as you reach Lukla, marking the end of your unforgettable trek. In the evening, celebrate with your trekking crew, share stories, and toast to a successful Everest Base Camp journey!
Overnight stay: Teahouse/Guesthouse in Lukla
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Weather permitting, you’ll board a morning flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu, soaking in final aerial views of the Himalayas. Once you land, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours—rest, explore local markets, or maybe treat yourself to a massage or shopping spree in Thamel.
Overnight stay: Hotel in Kathmandu
Meals: Breakfast
Today you enjoy a guided cultural tour of Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Visit the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, the serene Boudhanath Stupa (one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world), and the majestic Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple). End the day at Kathmandu Durbar Square, surrounded by ancient temples, palaces, and bustling local life.

In the evening, celebrate the completion of your Everest adventure with a special farewell dinner at a traditional Nepali restaurant. You’ll enjoy authentic local cuisine, cultural performances, and a memorable closing to your Himalayan journey.
Overnight stay: Hotel in Kathmandu
Meals: Breakfast, Farewell Dinner
Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy some final moments in Kathmandu—perhaps shopping for souvenirs or relaxing in a café. We will transfer you to the airport for your onward flight, bidding you farewell with warm wishes and unforgettable Everest memories!

What's Good: I loved my short time in Bhutan. The hotels were Very nice and clean. Since I wanted to save money, I asked for only 3-star hotels, the hotel I was placed in were all very very (Read More) clean and included a breakfast buffet and dinner. We also stayed at a home stay out in the countryside with a beautiful valley-view and a wonderful host. The homestay allows one to have a more authentic experience staying and interacting with local Bhutanese people. We loved experiencing the delicious Bhutanese food and culture and will not hesitate to come again in the future. I was just not aware how much was included in our tour. We had guides taking us personally everywhere we went. And even dinner was included in our package! You can confidently utilize this company. They strive to go above and beyond your expectations.
What's Not Good: I could have been fine without including the dinner in our package and seeking out my own dinners outside. Had I mention Ed that to Asia Valley, I am sure they would have accommodated my request.
