Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival at Bagdogra and Transfer to Phuntsholing
  • Meet & Greet at Bagdogra airport and drive to Phuntsholing via Beautiful Doors Tea Garden. It takes approximately 4 hours of drive.
  • Check into hotel and take rest
  • Evening stroll around Zangdupelri Chorten and Phuntsholing town
  • Overnight at Phuntsholing
  • After breakfast in the hotel, head towards the Immigration office for Immigration clearance
  • Drive to Thimphu via scenic forest/ hills/ mountains which will take approximately 4 hours’ drive.
  • Stop on the way at Gedhu, Whankha Waterfall, and Chonzom for sightseeing
  • Check-in to the  hotel and take a rest
  • Evening stroll around Thimphu Clock Tower Square/ Town.
  • Overnight at Thimphu
  • After early breakfast in the hotel we will drive to Punakha for sightseeing. It will take approximately 2 hours 30 minutes’ drive.
  • On the way, we will stop at Dochu La Pass for sightseeing and photography. On a clear day, we can see 108 stupas and the beautiful Himalayan ranges.
  • Stop at Chimi Lhakhan (Temple of Fertility). If you are planning to have a baby, you should visit this place.
  • Visit Punakha Dzong - the beautiful Dzong in Bhutan
  • Visit Bhutan's Longest Suspension bridge and meet locals across the bridge and interact with them.
  • Drive back to Thimphu
  • Overnight at Thimphu.
  • Buddha Point (Buddha Dordenma Statue), the tallest Buddha statue in the world
  • Simply Bhutan, the living museum
  • The Royal Textile Museum
  • National Institute for Zorig Chusum, to see the Bhutanese architecture
  • Mini Zoo & Sangaygan View Point (BBS tower) – beautiful Thimphu valley view
  • Tashicho Dzong (Thimphu Dzong)
  • Visit craft market (Bazar)/ Walk around centenary park
  • Drive to Paro
  • Overnight at Paro
  • After early breakfast at Hotel, start the Tiger’s Nest hike. It will take from 5 hours to 8 hours depending upon the guest ability to hike. This is the must-see place in Bhutan.
  • Paro Airport Bird eye view
  • Stroll around Paro town towards evening for last minute shopping and photography
  • Hot Stone Bath to relax yourselves after tiring hike to Tiger’s Nest.
  • Overnight at Paro
  • After breakfast visit Paro Dzong (Nya-mey Zam) and Paro Museum (Ta Dzong)
  • Drive to Phuntsholing
  • Overnight at Phuntsholing

What's Good: ## Bhutan Experience Our journey through Bhutan was largely impressive, with knowledgeable guides who showcased the country's rich cultural heritage and stunning landscapes with g (Read More)enuine enthusiasm. The drivers navigated the winding mountain roads with skill and professionalism, ensuring our comfort throughout most of the journey. However, our second night at Paro Rema Resort fell short of expectations in terms of dining. The food quality was disappointing compared to other meals we enjoyed in Bhutan, lacking both flavor and presentation that would be expected at a resort of this caliber. ## Sikkim Portion The transition between destinations proved problematic. Our transfer from Bhutan to Gangtok felt unnecessarily rushed, with a driver who seemed more concerned with completing the journey quickly than ensuring passenger comfort or allowing us to appreciate the scenic route. Upon arrival in Gangtok, we were pleased with our hotel's prime location on MG Road, offering convenient access to local attractions, shopping, and dining options. Unfortunately, the hotel's service standards did not match its excellent location. Staff responsiveness was inconsistent, and several basic amenities were either missing or required multiple requests. Overall, while the Bhutan portion of our tour delivered a memorable experience, the Sikkim segment would benefit from significant improvements to transportation and accommodation service quality.
