Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Kochi

Arrival: Arrive at Kochi International Airport/Railway Station, where our representative will assist you with your transfer to the hotel.
Leisure Time: Spend the rest of the day at leisure, relaxing or exploring the local area.
Overnight Stay: At a hotel in Kochi.

Day 2 Full-Day Kochi Sightseeing

Sightseeing Tour: Visit iconic attractions such as Fort Kochi, St. Francis Church, Jewish Synagogue, Mattancherry Palace (Dutch Palace), and the Chinese Fishing Nets.
Cultural Experience: In the evening, enjoy a traditional Kathakali dance show, known for its elaborate costumes and expressive storytelling.
Overnight Stay: At a hotel in Kochi.

Day 3 Kochi to Munnar (130 km / 4 hrs)

Scenic Drive: After breakfast, check out and travel to Munnar, known for its rolling hills, tea plantations, and stunning waterfalls.
Sightseeing: Upon arrival, visit Eravikulam National Park, Mattupetty Dam, Old Munnar Town, and the town market.
Optional Activity: Take an evening stroll through a tea estate or explore Munnar's beauty at your own pace.

Day 4 Munnar to Periyar (98 km / 3.5 hrs)

Travel: Check out and drive to Periyar, one of India's largest wildlife sanctuaries and a prominent tiger reserve.
Sightseeing: Visit the cardamom plantation areas and soak in the lush greenery.
Overnight Stay: At a hotel in Periyar.

Day 5 Full-Day Periyar Exploration

Activities: Enjoy bamboo rafting and border hiking, which are unique programs offered in Periyar. Embark on an elephant safari and explore the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary.
Additional Sightseeing: Visit nearby attractions, including Kumily town, Mangala Devi Temple, and Devi Temple.

Day 6 Periyar to Alleppey (128 km / 3.5 hrs)

Travel: After breakfast, check out and head to Alleppey for an authentic houseboat experience.
Houseboat Stay: Check in to your houseboat and cruise along the serene backwaters and lagoons.
Meals: Enjoy lunch and dinner on the houseboat.
Leisure: Take an evening stroll around the streets of Alappuzha.

Day 7 Alleppey to Kumarakom (32 km / 1 hr)

Travel: Disembark from the houseboat and drive to Kumarakom, a peaceful village on the banks of Vembanad Lake.
Sightseeing: Visit Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, home to various migratory birds. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon by the backwaters or indulge in a traditional Ayurvedic massage at a local spa.
Leisure: Spend the evening relaxing or exploring at your own pace.
Overnight Stay: At a hotel in Kumarakom.

Day 8 Kumarakom to Cochin (48 km / 1.5 hrs) and Departure

Travel: After breakfast, check out and transfer to Cochin Airport/Railway Station for your onward journey.

Resort and hotel suggestions to suit my budget and strategically selected closer to places of interest was truly 5 star service from the agent. My solo trip was made safe and comfortable. Great sugge (Read More)stions were made to choose places to visit to make the trip fun, enjoyable and memorable. This awesome trip in a very long time was fun and refreshing. The paradise in Kerala will transcend your soul to haven. People are welcoming and friendly. I recommend Varkala tranquil beeches and Kovalam backwaters for the ultimate fun experience. Gods Own Country’s Kitchen is recommended for some great food and live music on the Varkala cliff point. If south temple architecture peeks your interest, then there are a few gems from ancient times hidden here to explore maintaining sanctity and faith in true form. Solo travellers pay couples rate which can be heavy on the purse. South India need to warm up to the idea that solo traveller numbers are increasing, male and female alike and in all age groups. Not only the cost of travel but people’s outlook need to change. Most of the temples here are only for believers in faith. Kanyakumari was crowded during the Diwali break. The seashore here is only to soak in the view. Thiruvananthapuram Sri Padmanabhaswamy temple darshan was divine however fleeting it maybe, but the mandapa which adorns the beautiful sculptures is out of bounds for devotees. The Garbhagudi could be well lit, so the devotees can properly catch a glimpse of the lord and be blessed. Since architecture is out of bounds recommend special entry for swift darshan.
