Day 1 Arrive at Bagdogra/NJP - Gangtok
On arrival at Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station, meet our representative and begin your scenic drive to Gangtok. Perched at an altitude of 1750 meters, Gangtok is the charming capital of Sikkim. The town beautifully blends tradition and modernity and is adorned with monasteries, orchid gardens, and prayer flags. Dominated by traditional Buddhist architecture, Gangtok is also the gateway to North Sikkim and a perfect base for travelers heading deeper into the Himalayas.
Overnight stay in Gangtok.
After breakfast, set out for a full-day excursion to Changu (Tsomgo) Lake, located 35 km from Gangtok at an altitude of 12,400 feet. Surrounded by snow-covered mountains, the lake changes colors with the seasons and is steeped in local legends—lamas were believed to predict the future by observing its waters. Continue your journey to New Baba Mandir, a sacred site dedicated to an Indian army soldier revered by locals.

Post breakfast, depart from Gangtok and drive towards Lachen, a quaint mountain village in North Sikkim. The route offers picturesque views of snow-capped peaks, cascading waterfalls, and traditional Sikkimese villages. This drive is a photographer’s delight, and the journey itself is just as beautiful as the destination.

Today begins early as you drive to the magnificent Gurudongmar Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world, located at an altitude of 17,800 feet. The frozen lake and surrounding barren landscapes offer an experience that’s both surreal and spiritual. En route, you’ll also see the scenic Chopta Valley, known for its untouched beauty and winding rivers. Later, proceed to Lachung, another idyllic Himalayan village.

After breakfast, head out for a half-day excursion to Yumthang Valley, famously known as the “Valley of Flowers.” This alpine paradise blooms with rhododendrons, primulas, and other Himalayan flora in spring, while during winter, it transforms into a snowy wonderland. The valley is also a summer grazing ground for yaks. Return to Lachung by afternoon.
Overnight stay in Lachung.
After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Lachung and drive back to Gangtok. Enjoy scenic halts along the way before reaching the capital by evening. Relax after the long drive or explore the MG Marg for shopping and local food.

What's Good: Recently I and my daughter had an amazing tour for 8D/7N covering Gangtok, Pelling, and Darjeeling, all perfectly arranged by Mr. Suraj from Holiday Crafters! Everything was smooth (Read More) - from the well-balanced itinerary to the comfortable accommodations and reliable transportation. One of the most unforgettable moments was witnessing snowfall at Changu Lake - the serene beauty combined with fresh snow made it truly magical. And thanks to Mr. Suraj's suggestion, we also visited the Buddha Park in Ravangla - a gem we're so glad we didn't miss. Highly recommend the Holiday Crafters for an stress-free, memorable holiday!

What's Good: I had an amazing experience with Make My Holiday. From the moment the trip started, everything was handled with incredible professionalism and care. The organizers(Subhankar Rajak (Read More)and Lakshmi Roy Murmu, ) were well-prepared, friendly, and made sure every detail was covered—from accommodations to sightseeing. Special mention to our cab drivers, who were not only punctual and skilled behind the wheel but also incredibly polite and knowledgeable about all the local spots. They truly made our journey comfortable and enjoyable. This was one of the best trips I've taken, and I can confidently say it was because of the exceptional team behind it. Highly recommended.

What's Good: We are finally back home from our trip and I would like to thank you for organizing our trip for us throughout. We had a wonderful time at every destination and the hotels that you (Read More) chose were very nice indeed except Gangtok one. The driver that you provided in Darjling was excellent and drove very safely and gently.A special thankfulness to Monidipa⁩ who was organising our tour and constantly helping us out in case of any queries.
