Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Bagdogra - Paro

Arrive at Paro International Airport from Bagdogra. Meet and greet with the local representative and transfer to your hotel. The day is at leisure to acclimatize and enjoy the tranquil surroundings of Paro.

Today’s highlight is a hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest (Paro Taktsang), perched 3,120 meters above the Paro Valley. Built in 1692 to honor Guru Padmasambhava, this monastery is a spiritual icon of Bhutan. The challenging yet rewarding hike offers incredible views and a serene ambiance. After descending, proceed on a scenic drive to Punakha for an overnight stay.

Start early and drive to the picturesque Phobjikha Valley, a glacial valley known for its stunning landscape and the endangered black-necked cranes. Enjoy sightseeing around the valley, visiting Gangtey Monastery and soaking in the quiet beauty of the countryside.

In the morning, visit the majestic Punakha Dzong, situated at the confluence of the Pho and Mo Chhu rivers. Walk across the Punakha Suspension Bridge for panoramic views. Later, drive to the capital city Thimphu. Explore the local market or relax in the evening.

Visit Buddha Dordenma, a massive Shakyamuni Buddha statue overlooking Thimphu. Stop by the Royal Takin Preserve and enjoy shopping at handicraft markets. After sightseeing, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward journey.

The booking and arrangements initially was excellent. Reeta was contacting me almost daily to assist me and finalise my itenerary. She also accommodated my preferred hotel requests. I then made paymen (Read More)t ,on 7 October 2024. Since then Reeta has stopped communicating. She however did ask her office to send me internal travel arrangements (after I requested the details) and I have since only had communications from Nikhil from her office. I just feel that I should have been advised by Reeta, that after initial sale by her , I will be handed over to her office admin for ongoing communication. Then I would understand. Otherwise I just felt neglected. Hope it all starts and ends well. I only arrive in Mumbai on 11/11/2024. But still dont know who will meet me at airport. Regards Mano
