Proceed to Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang), home to a towering statue of Lord Buddha overlooking the valley. Next, explore the Institute for Zorig Chusum, also known as the Traditional Art & Craft School, where students are trained in Bhutan’s 13 traditional arts (entry fee applicable). Visit the Textile Museum to witness the rich textile heritage of Bhutan, followed by a stop at the local Handicrafts Market. Continue to Simply Bhutan, a cultural living museum that offers an immersive experience of Bhutanese traditions (entry fee applicable). Visit Zangthopelri Lhakhang, a serene monastery in the city center, and then head to the Motithang Takin Preserve to see the national animal of Bhutan, the unique Takin (closed on Mondays).
