Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival at Madurai & Transfer to Kodaikanal
- Arrive at the airport in Madurai and be escorted to your car.
- The driver will drive you to your hotel in Kodaikanal.
- After freshening up, visit Kodaikanal Lake and go boating.
- Later visit the Guna cave, pine forest, and Bryant park.
- Visit Kurinji Andavar Temple.
- Overnight stay at a hotel in Kodaikanal.
Day 2 Trekking and Sightseeing in Kodaikanal
- Early morning go for a walk on Coaker’s Walk. Watch a mesmerizing sunrise and a glimpse of the valley.
- Come back to the hotel for breakfast and then proceed for a hike.
- Today go for a km Trek to Dolphin's nose(not recommended for people not physically fit)
- Later, drive through the scenic route to Berijam Lake.
- Overnight stay at Kodaikanal
Day 3 Kodaikanal to Madurai
- After breakfast, drive to Madurai.
- On arrival at Madurai, check in to the hotel.
- Later, proceed sightseeing.
- Visit Meenakshi Amman Temple, Thirumalai Nayak Palace, Thirupparankundram, and Gandhi Museum.
- Overnight stay at Madurai.
Day 4 Madurai to Rameshwaram
- After breakfast, proceed to Rameshwaram.
- On arrival at Rameswaram, check in at the hotel.
- After freshening up, proceed for sightseeing.
- Visit Dhanushkodi (jeep cost extra), Former President Shri. Dr Abdul Kalam’s House, and Pamban Bridge.
- Then proceed to Sangumal Beach, Rameswaram Sea Shore and spend the rest of the day at Ariyaman Beach.
- Overnight stay at Rameshwaram.
Day 5 Rameshwaram to Kanyakumari
- After early breakfast, proceed to Kanyakumari.
- On arrival in Kanyakumari, check in at the hotel.
- Later, proceed sightseeing.
- Visit Padmanabhapuram Palace, Thiruvalluvar Statue, Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Bhagavathy Amman Temple, Gandhi Memorial, Bharat Mata Temple, Kanyakumari Beach, and Sunset View Point.
- Overnight stay at Kanyakumari.
Day 6 Kanyakumari to Kovalam
- After breakfast, proceed to Kovalam.
- On arrival in Kovalam, check in to the hotel.
- Proceed to relax at the Kovalam beach.
- Visit the crescent-shaped beaches of Kovalam, i.e. Samudra Beach, Hawa Beach & Lighthouse Beach.
- Overnight stay at Kovalam.
Day 7 Departure
- In the morning, check out from the hotel.
- Proceed to Trivandrum airport/train station for onward destination.

Hotel selections were impressive: Hotel Sea View at Kanyakumari offered breathtaking sunrise views and delicious food. Hotel Germanus in Madurai, Hotel Soma Palmshore in Kovalam, and Hotel Taika in Rameshwaram provided pleasant stays with good food and courteous staff.
The houseboat experience was outstanding, with mouth-watering local cuisine, including an unforgettable fish fry. However, hot water for bathing was not available.
Some valuable tips for future travelers: verify temple timings and dress code regulations in advance to optimize your itinerary. Ladies can find lovely, affordable sarees and dress materials. Engaging local drivers or guides can also enhance your experience.

However, hot water for bathing was not available and no more activities at the shore. Rather we would have preferred to stay in a hotel and take long ride of houseboat in the afternoon to late evening would have better.

Had a great vacation and thanks to Rishi and team for arranging it. the itinerary covered all the good places and hotels was good as well. Special mention to ou (Read More)r driver dada (Venkatesh) who really took care of our trip. Rishi was very helpful from the beginning and till the end of the trip. Hope to have more collaboration in 2025.
Only one disappointment was Hotel Lake View which wasn't up to mark. It lacked basic amenities and is quite money oriented.
