Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from Naata Trek and Tours will greet you with a placard displaying your name. You will be transferred to your designated hotel, where you can rest after your journey. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner hosted by Naata Trek and Tours, featuring authentic Nepalese cuisine, offering a taste of the country’s rich culinary traditions.

After breakfast, attend a pre-trip meeting where you will be introduced to your trekking guide. This is an opportunity to ask questions and ensure you are well-prepared for the adventure ahead.

Your sightseeing tour begins with a visit to Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world, where monks can be seen in prayer. Next, explore Pashupatinath Temple, Nepal’s most revered Hindu temple, situated along the Bagmati River, where you can witness Hindu rituals, sadhus (holy men), and cremation ceremonies.

Continue to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a historical site adorned with pagoda and shikhara-style temples, the Palace of Fifty-Five Windows, the Lion Gate, the Golden Gate, and several art galleries. After a culturally enriching day, return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Embark on an 8-hour scenic drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar, passing through lush hills, rivers, and charming villages. From Besisahar, take a jeep ride to Syange, enjoying picturesque landscapes, waterfalls, and terraced fields along the way. Overnight stay in Syange.

Today marks the beginning of the trek. Follow the Marsyangdi River, gradually ascending past stunning waterfalls and lush greenery. The day’s journey concludes in Tal, a scenic village nestled in the valley. Overnight stay in Tal.

After breakfast, leave the Marsyangdi River behind and trek toward Danaque. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of Annapurna II, Pisang Peak, and cascading waterfalls. The trail also offers glimpses of traditional villages and the rural lifestyle of Nepal. Overnight stay in Danaque.

Today’s trek is relatively easy, leading to Chame, the headquarters of Manang District. Walk through scenic forests with views of waterfalls and towering peaks. Chame is a small but well-facilitated town, making it a comfortable stop for the night. Overnight stay in Chame.

Trek through dense pine forests, cross the Marsyangdi River, and walk through meadows with distant mountain views. Along the way, see the famous Paungda Danda, a massive curved rock formation. Upon reaching Upper Pisang, enjoy spectacular close-up views of Annapurna II. Overnight stay in Upper Pisang.

Wake up early to witness the first rays of the sun illuminating Annapurna II. Continue trekking towards Ngawal, a route known for high-altitude flora, deep gorges, and breathtaking mountain scenery. Overnight stay in Ngawal.

Pass through jungles, wetlands, and rolling hills, with views of stupas and traditional lama schools. The trek to Manang takes about six hours, offering stunning landscapes and mountain vistas. Overnight stay in Manang.

Spend the day acclimatizing to the high altitude by exploring Manang village. Optional short hikes to Gangapurna Lake or Bhojo Gompa provide panoramic views. Overnight stay in Manang.

Ascend gradually through Tenki Manang, leaving the Marsyangdi Valley behind. Follow the Jarsang Khola Valley, passing herds of yaks and witnessing thinning vegetation as you gain altitude. Overnight stay in Yak Kharka.

Start the day with a two-hour ascent, followed by a descent to cross the river at 4,310m. A final steep climb leads to Thorong Phedi (4,450m), the base camp for crossing the Thorong La Pass. Overnight stay in Thorong Phedi.

Today is the longest and most challenging day of the trek. Begin before dawn to cross Thorong La Pass (5,416m) before the strong afternoon winds pick up. The ascent takes approximately four hours, with trails marked by chortens and prayer flags. Descend into the sacred town of Muktinath, a revered pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists alike. Explore Muktinath Temple, its 108 holy water spouts, and the eternal flame fueled by natural gas. Overnight stay in Muktinath.
Descend through the arid Mustang region, resembling a high-altitude desert. Walk along the Kali Gandaki River, passing ancient stupas and traditional villages. Arrive in Marpha, famous for its apple orchards, apple pies, and local apple brandy. Overnight stay in Marpha.

We have breakfast and continue to descend through the valley along the banks of the Kali Gandaki River. While on this trail, we can get great views of Annapurna I and the beautiful landscapes it compliments. We stayed the night in Kalo Pani.

Descend further through lush vegetation, reaching the world’s deepest gorge—Kali Gandaki Gorge. Arrive in Tatopani, known for its natural hot springs, where you can take a dip to relax your muscles. Overnight stay in Tatopani.

Spend the day soaking in the hot springs and exploring the village. Overnight stay in Tatopani.

The trail today ascends steadily through rhododendron forests and traditional Gurung villages. After approximately 7 hours, reach Ghorepani, a charming hilltop settlement. Overnight stay in Ghorepani.

Start early for a sunrise hike to Poon Hill (3210m), where you can witness breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Descend back to Ghorepani for breakfast, then continue trekking through pine and rhododendron forests before reaching Tikhedhunga. Overnight stay in Tikhedhunga.

Hike alongside Modi Khola, passing Birethanti, before arriving at Nayapul. From there, drive back to Pokhara. Spend the evening exploring Phewa Lake and the lakeside area. Overnight stay in Pokhara.

Begin the day with an early morning drive to Sarangkot, a famous viewpoint offering sunrise views over the Annapurna range. Continue exploring Davi’s Fall, Mahendra Cave, Phewa Lake (boating), Bindhyabasini Temple, and the International Mountain Museum. Visit a Tibetan refugee camp to observe their handicraft-making skills. Overnight stay in Pokhara.
Return to Kathmandu by jeep, enjoying scenic mountain views. In the evening, Naata Trek and Tours hosts a farewell dinner, celebrating your successful journey.
