Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival at JKIA airport to Tsavo East National Park

Clear customs at the airport
Meet with company representative and driver guide
Briefing on the safari
Depart for Tsavo East National Park
5-hour drive covering approximately 291 km
Arrive at Voi Wildlife Lodge in time for lunch
Afternoon game drive
Tsavo East is the largest park in Kenya (13,747 sq km)
Popular for herds of red elephants
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 2 Tsavo East National Park

After breakfast, take with you lunch for game drive.
The longest Yatta plateau covering 300 square kilometers is found within the park.
Mudanda rock offers an extraordinary view of the surrounding savannah and is a popular destination for both animals and visitors.
It acts as a natural water catchment, ensuring a steady stream of animals, including elephants, who come to quench their thirst.
The park hosts:

Wildebeests
Gerenuk
Zebras
Giraffes

The park has a prolific bird life featuring over 500 species recorded across the park.

Day 3 Tsavo East to Tsavo West National Park

Breakfast
Cross to Tsavo West National Park
Second largest park in Kenya (9,065 square kilometers)
Known as the land of lava
Popular for man-eating lions
Scenic beauty includes:

Open savannah grasslands
Acacia woodlands
Scrublands
Rocky ridges
Riverine vegetation

Game drive in search of:

Lions
Elephants
Buffalo

Day 4 Tsavo West to Amboseli National park

After breakfast, depart to Amboseli National Park.
About two hours drive to check in at Kilima Safari Camp.
Take lunch with you.
Proceed for afternoon game drive.
Amboseli is one of Kenya?s premium parks.
Crowned by Mount Kilimanjaro from the neighboring country.
Covers a land area of about 392 sq km.
Constitutes rocky thorny bushes, savannah wetlands, lake basin, and acacia woodlands.
Famous for large herds of elephants with huge tusks in the open plains.
Dinner and overnight stay at the Camp.

Day 5 Amboseli National Park

Early morning game drive for scenic views of Kilimanjaro mountain landscapes
Return to the lodge for breakfast and short rest
Lunch for further exploration in the park
Search for African big five: buffalos, lions, leopards
Other animals: giraffe, zebra, gazelle, cheetahs, hyenas
Park shelters about 400 species of birds
Return to the Camp for dinner and rest

Day 6 Lake Naivasha National Park

After breakfast embark on about 5 hours drive to Lake Naivasha.
Arrive in time for lunch at Lake Naivasha Resort.
After lunch, the driver liaises with boatmen for your boat ride on the lake to Crescent Island.
Crescent Island is a wildlife sanctuary that offers home to over 350 species of birds.
A number of animals can be seen feeding in the surroundings of the lake, including:

Masai giraffe
Zebra
Dikdiks
Steenbok
Impala gazelle
Hippos

Birds like pelicans, cormorants, and flamingos can also be seen.
After leisure on the lake, return to the Resort for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7 Masai Mara National Reserve

Morning breakfast
Depart for Masaai Mara reserve
Drive through flower farms of Naivasha (approximately 4 hours)
Masaai Mara reserve area: 1510 sq km
Supports magnificent biodiversity
Famous for wildebeest migration (in season)
Arrive at Zebra Plains Mara Camp in time for lunch
Thrilling game drive for exploration in Africa's Jewel
Return to camp for dinner and rest

Day 8 Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, you will take lunch for a full day game drive in the reserve.
The vast savannah grassland and wide plains provide a chance to spot most animals including:

wildebeests
giraffe
gazelle
antelope
impala
warthog
buffalo
elephants
hyenas

In the plains, large mammals like:

lions
leopard
cheetah

Masai Mara is home to hundreds of bird species including:

ostrich
vultures
hawks
ibis
egrets
owls

You can opt to visit the Masai Village where local dances are performed; the visit is paid directly by oneself at the site.
In the evening, you can cap off your experience by capturing the sunset on camera as it is clearly visible in the plains.
You will drive back to the Camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 9 Masai Mara to Nairobi

After breakfast you check out
Depart for Nairobi
Get dropped at JKIA airport
In time for your scheduled flight

Very genuine with suggestions and doesn't do things as a job or formality. 3. James is very knowledgeable. 4. The enthusiasm and passion shown by James was just so infectious. 5. The planning of itinerary takes care of all the finer details. 6. They really take care of your focus and they don't try to sell anything you are not interested in. For example we skipped the village visit because we didn't see value in it. 7. Quite flexible and adjusts as things progress.

Janet was very thorough with our itenary and helped us throughout and Bonnie knew all the best spots on all of our game drives. We didn't feel rushed throughout our tour, because it is designed very well to accomodate enough rest. 10/10 recommend

We wanted to cover a lot of ground, and were going from one agency to another before we found Donwel as most agents couldn't quite squeeze everything we wanted into our itinerary. Judith and Christine however made it all possible. Good quality stays everywhere, regular communication through the trip to ensure we were ok and were getting what we wanted.
