Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve
After breakfast, leave Nairobi and head north towards Samburu National Reserve, passing through scenic tea and coffee plantations. Arrive at Samburu Sarova Shaba Lodge in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive.
Dinner and overnight at Samburu Sarova Shaba Lodge
Depart Samburu and head to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Enjoy stunning views of Mount Kenya and lunch at Sweetwater’s Camp. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive and visit the chimpanzee sanctuary.

After breakfast, drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Famous for its flamingos, Lake Nakuru also boasts over 450 species of birds and several species of mammals. Arrive for lunch at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge, followed by an afternoon game drive.

After breakfast, head to the Maasai Mara, one of Kenya’s most renowned wildlife reserves. Arrive for lunch at Zebra Plains Mara Camp, followed by an afternoon game drive to witness the “Big Five.”

Spend the entire day exploring Maasai Mara’s vast savanna plains. You’ll have the chance to see lions, elephants, giraffes, and, if lucky, the annual wildebeest migration. Picnic lunch by the Mara River.
Return to camp for dinner and overnight at Zebra Plains Mara.
After breakfast, depart for Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake surrounded by birdlife. Optional boat rides and a visit to Crescent Island for wildlife viewing are available.

In the morning, drive to Amboseli National Park, famous for its elephant herds and views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Enjoy lunch at Amboseli Sopa Lodge, followed by an afternoon game drive.

Just went for 8 day safari with James and Wild Portraits Safaris...it was spot o (Read More)n perfect. Reasons 1.Clear communication and replies always comes very quickly on WhatsApp. 2. Very genuine with suggestions and doesn't do things as a job or formality. 3. James is very knowledgeable. 4. The enthusiasm and passion shown by James was just so infectious. 5. The planning of itinerary takes care of all the finer details. 6. They really take care of your focus and they don't try to sell anything you are not interested in. For example we skipped the village visit because we didn't see value in it. 7. Quite flexible and adjusts as things progress.

The entire trip was handled with extreme professionalism by both Janet and our g (Read More)uide Bonnie. We got to see the Big5 within 3 days of our itenary and more on the next days. Janet was very thorough with our itenary and helped us throughout and Bonnie knew all the best spots on all of our game drives. We didn't feel rushed throughout our tour, because it is designed very well to accomodate enough rest. 10/10 recommend

From the very beginning, Christine and Judith from Donwel Tours were highly atte (Read More)ntive to what we were looking to get from our first ever trip to Kenya, and Africa, for that matter. We wanted to cover a lot of ground, and were going from one agency to another before we found Donwel as most agents couldn't quite squeeze everything we wanted into our itinerary. Judith and Christine however made it all possible. Good quality stays everywhere, regular communication through the trip to ensure we were ok and were getting what we wanted.
