Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Jomo Kenyatta International Airport - After 40 Hotel

One of our guides will welcome you at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and drive you to your accommodation in Nairobi, where you will be able to refresh and get ready to start life experience safari in Amboseli, Tarangire, Ngorongoro crater and and Lake Manyara.

After breakfast, you will be picked up and driven from your Lodge to Amboseli National Park. Amboseli National Park is in southern Kenya. It’s known for its large elephant herds. The name “Amboseli” comes from a Maasai word meaning “salty dust”, and it is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close. Nature lovers can explore five different habitats here, ranging from the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli to wetlands with sulfur springs, the savannah, and woodlands. Please stop by at the local Maasai community who live around the Park and experience their authentic culture. You will then drive back to your Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

This day, after breakfast, you will proceed with a game drive in Amboseli National Park with your packed lunch. It’s known for its large elephant herds. Amboseli - Namanga Border then to Arusha

After Morning Breakfast, the driver will pick you up and start driving from Amboseli to Arusha via the Namanga Border; after arriving at the border and undergoing all the necessary procedures for crossing the border, you will exchange the vehicle and start driving towards Arusha city. On the way, you can pass by Masai Village in Longido to experience their culture, then proceed to your accommodation in Arusha for lunch, dinner, and overnight.

Starting at your accommodation around 8:00 am, you will receive a short briefing about the safari and then depart to the National Park. The Tarangire National Park is located South of Lake Manyara. The river from which the park takes its name is the primary water source for the local wildlife, making it the perfect place to spot large concentrations of animals like elephants (the largest concentration in the country), wildebeests, and zebras. Big cats are also frequent in the dry season, and the abundance of baobab trees will surely make it possible for you to collect unique African postcards. Lunch will take place at a picnic place overlooking the Tarangire River, and after more game viewing in the Park, you will drive to your Accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Start early in the day to visit the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera, formed when a huge volcano exploded and collapsed on itself. In the present days, however, far from being a destructive source of hot lava, it’s actually a natural paradise considered one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa, home to nearly 25 000 large animals, including black rhinoceros, buffaloes, hippos and big cats. The Park is also classed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tour will stop for lunch at a picnic place near a lake, and continue in the afternoon. Later on you will drive back for overnight stay.

Your full day game drive in Lake Manyara will start early in the morning. Located south west of Arusha, Lake Manyara, despite its relatively small area, is a real shrine to natural life. Possessing a diverse flora that includes over 670 species of flowering plants and ferns as well as dense forests of acacias and giant figs, the park is also home to a vibrant fauna, with large populations of wildebeests, zebras and gazelles, hippos, tree-climbing lions, cheetahs, and more than 350 species of birds, being the most famous the massive flocks of flamingoes that feed there during the wet season. The tour includes a stop for lunch at the picnic site; then we will continue with the game drive before we drive back to Arusha, which will be the end of your tour. {accommodation can be organized upon request.

Memorable Kenya trip

Sapna Kapur's Trip to Kenya

5 /5

(Written on 11 Jul, 2025)

What's Good: Everything went smooth and was detailed. Communication was flawless. The experience was seamless and well organised. Our guide Ben was fantastic and knowledgable so we feel we made (Read More) a friend in Kenya too. James was superb in helping us plan the trip and with suggestions for stay. All in all it was such a special vacation and I can’t wait to explore more of Africa. People are great ! So warm and friendly and what a truly blessed country with so much nature and wildlife. I would highly recommend Wild Portraits and James and Ben for your travel to Kenya.
What's Not Good: please be careful while entering the country at immigration - make sure your passport is stamped. We had some issue with this. Can’t complain about anything else. It was beyond our expectations.

What's Good: The responsiveness of Christine (person overall responsible for arrangements)and knowledge from Evance (our driver and guide for national parks)about national parks was excellent. (Read More) We stayed and covered Nairobi, Masai, Naivasha and Daini.. All stays and safaris were perfect could not have asked for better.
What's Not Good: We chose Van but we think land cruiser would have been a better option especially for being comfortable in muddy terrains.

Ajith's Trip to Kenya

(Written on 03 Mar, 2025)

What's Good: After screening and talking to about 5 travel operators, I decided to go with Nature Romp for an 8 day safari in Kenya. Their rate was competitive and selection of lodges to stay v (Read More)ery good. Initially I was skeptical due to less reviews about Nature Romp in public domain. However when I talked to Yvonne, I understood that theirs is a fairly new company and decided to go with them. We (my daughter and I) opted for a private tour covering Masai Mara, Nakuru and Amboseli. We were received at the airport and the next day Yvonne, Lucy and Maxwell (guide cum driver) welcomed us at the hotel, early morning of the Safari start. We instantly felt at home and from then onwards it was a memorable trip. Our guide Maxwell is an excellent guide. He knew about birds and animals, their behavior and diligent in driving. He was always on time.
What's Not Good: Nothing in particular. Only one stay (at Naivasha) could have been closer to the national park. It was nevertheless a good place but not great for bird photography
