Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Nairobi – Lake Naivasha National Park
You'll be picked up from the Nairobi city center and depart for Lake Naivasha National Park. On the way, you'll stop at the Rift Valley escarpment viewpoint, which offers stunning views. Lake Naivasha, the highest and most beautiful of the Rift Valley lakes, is a popular area for bird watching, with over 400 species. Since the water is too cold for crocodiles, you will spot numerous hippos. An optional boat ride can be organized at an additional cost.

You will also visit Crescent Island, a sanctuary for herbivores like giraffes, zebras, impalas, and hippos. Crescent Island is perfect for nature photography, with its scenic views of animals, birds, and the sunset reflecting on the lake. Arrive at Lake Naivasha in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive to spot the park's diverse wildlife.
In the evening, enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at Lake Naivasha Country Club.
After an early morning drive, you will head towards Amboseli National Park. Upon arrival, you will check into your accommodation and have lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive through Amboseli National Park, which is known for its vast open plains, acacia woodland, and volcanic hills.

The park is famous for large herds of elephants and provides stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro across the Kenya-Tanzania border. Additionally, the park is home to over 600 species of birds, making it a birdwatcher's paradise. Keep your camera ready to capture the park's diverse wildlife against the backdrop of the majestic Kilimanjaro.
Enjoy your evening with dinner and an overnight stay at Amboseli Sentrim Camp
Rise early for incredible views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds cover the summit. After breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive through Amboseli National Park with a packed lunch provided. You may choose to visit a Maasai village (optional, at an extra cost) to experience the rich culture of the Maasai people through their traditional songs, dances, and daily rituals.

Amboseli is one of the best places in Africa to experience elephants up close, as they freely roam and bathe in the park's swamps. The day will be filled with unforgettable wildlife sightings, especially of elephants, along with other animals that thrive in Amboseli’s unique ecosystem.
You will return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Start your day with an early morning game drive in Amboseli and breakfast at the lodge. After checking out, you will embark on a four-hour drive to Tsavo West National Park, enjoying game viewing. Tsavo West is known for its dramatic landscapes and is home to red elephants due to the iron-rich soil they cover themselves with.

Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, explore the park on a game drive. Tsavo West National Park is famous for its unique attractions, like Mzima Springs, where crystal-clear water emerges from lava rock, and the Shetani Lava Flows. It’s also one of Kenya’s oldest national parks, offering an excellent opportunity to witness its abundant wildlife and stunning scenery.
Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at Severin Safari Camp.
After breakfast, check out from your lodge and drive to Tsavo East National Park for about two hours. This park is home to the famous red elephants and is known for its vast wilderness and rich biodiversity. Game viewing will be part of the journey to your accommodation, and you will have a chance to spot various wildlife.

Upon arrival, check into your lodge, have lunch, and relax before an afternoon game drive. Tsavo East is one of the largest parks in Kenya, covering 13,747 square kilometers. Its sparse vegetation makes spotting animals like lions, cheetahs, and elephants easier. Tsavo East is renowned for its mane-less lions and large herds of red-dust-covered elephants.
Return to Ashnil Aruba Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Enjoy breakfast and a morning game drive in Tsavo East National Park. This is the perfect opportunity to explore the park’s unique ecosystem and view its diverse wildlife. Afterward, return to the lodge for lunch and some time to relax.
In the afternoon, venture out on another game drive and experience the magic of the African wilderness. A sundowner can be arranged for you, allowing you to enjoy a breathtaking African sunset while sipping on your favorite drink, making for a perfect end to your safari experience.
Dinner and overnight stay will be at the camp.
After breakfast at the camp, you will check out and depart for Nairobi. You can travel via road or take the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) at an additional cost. Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be dropped off at your hotel, pickup location, or the airport, concluding your safari adventure.

Memorable Kenya trip

Sapna Kapur's Trip to Kenya

5 /5

(Written on 11 Jul, 2025)

What's Good: Everything went smooth and was detailed. Communication was flawless. The experience was seamless and well organised. Our guide Ben was fantastic and knowledgable so we feel we made (Read More) a friend in Kenya too. James was superb in helping us plan the trip and with suggestions for stay. All in all it was such a special vacation and I can’t wait to explore more of Africa. People are great ! So warm and friendly and what a truly blessed country with so much nature and wildlife. I would highly recommend Wild Portraits and James and Ben for your travel to Kenya.
What's Not Good: please be careful while entering the country at immigration - make sure your passport is stamped. We had some issue with this. Can’t complain about anything else. It was beyond our expectations.

What's Good: The responsiveness of Christine (person overall responsible for arrangements)and knowledge from Evance (our driver and guide for national parks)about national parks was excellent. (Read More) We stayed and covered Nairobi, Masai, Naivasha and Daini.. All stays and safaris were perfect could not have asked for better.
What's Not Good: We chose Van but we think land cruiser would have been a better option especially for being comfortable in muddy terrains.

Ajith's Trip to Kenya

(Written on 03 Mar, 2025)

What's Good: After screening and talking to about 5 travel operators, I decided to go with Nature Romp for an 8 day safari in Kenya. Their rate was competitive and selection of lodges to stay v (Read More)ery good. Initially I was skeptical due to less reviews about Nature Romp in public domain. However when I talked to Yvonne, I understood that theirs is a fairly new company and decided to go with them. We (my daughter and I) opted for a private tour covering Masai Mara, Nakuru and Amboseli. We were received at the airport and the next day Yvonne, Lucy and Maxwell (guide cum driver) welcomed us at the hotel, early morning of the Safari start. We instantly felt at home and from then onwards it was a memorable trip. Our guide Maxwell is an excellent guide. He knew about birds and animals, their behavior and diligent in driving. He was always on time.
What's Not Good: Nothing in particular. Only one stay (at Naivasha) could have been closer to the national park. It was nevertheless a good place but not great for bird photography
