Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Kigoma

Upon your arrival at Nyerere International Airport, you will take a shared flight to Kigoma Airport.
Transfer to your hotel and enjoy lunch.
In the afternoon, embark on a city tour of Kigoma, visiting attractions like Kigoma Museum and learning about the history of Dr. Livingstone and the slave trade.
Explore the history of the German ship, LIEMBA.
Return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2 Kigoma to Gombe Stream National Park

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel in Kigoma.
Head to Kibilizi ferry for a boat ride on Lake Tanganyika, which takes around 1.5 hours to reach Gombe National Park.
If interested, participate in a forest walk to see wildlife like red colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, oliver baboons, red-tailed monkeys, and forest giant squirrels.
On arrival to Gombe, check in to the chosen lodge and have lunch.
In the evening, go kayaking on Lake Tanganyika to observe the forest and birdlife along the lake's shores.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 Chimpanzee Tracking in Gombe Stream

Begin your day with breakfast and head out for chimpanzee tracking in the forest.
Visit Kikombe waterfalls, a natural attraction in the park.
Optionally, climb Jane’s Peak for a breathtaking view of the park.
Return for lunch to the lodge.
Spend afternoon relaxing in the lodge.
Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge in Gombe.

Day 4 Gombe Stream National Park Exploration

After breakfast, start another chimpanzee trek in a different valley and visit Mkenge waterfalls.
Optionally, participate in a walking safari.
Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.
In the late afternoon, enjoy a sundowner experience.
Dinner and overnight stay at Gombe lodge.

Day 5 Return to Dar es Salaam

Enjoy breakfast at your accommodation.
Early in the morning, commence your journey back to Dar es Salaam.
Take the boat ride to Kigoma Airport.
From Kigoma Airport, board a shared flight for your return to Dar es Salaam.
