Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Nairobi - Amboseli National Park
You will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel or airport and embark on a 5-hour drive to Amboseli National Park. Before proceeding to Amboseli, you will stopover at the Email Souvenirs Shop.
You will arrive early afternoon, check in, have lunch, and rest briefly. In the afternoon, you will embark on game drives, the preferred time for wildlife viewing until evening.
Amboseli National Park is renowned for its stunning beauty, set against the backdrop of the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's tallest mountain, dominating the landscape.
It is also the best place in Africa to witness free-ranging elephants up close—an awe-inspiring sight. You will also be able to spot African lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and other wildlife, offering excellent photographic opportunities.
Later in the evening, you will return to Amboseli Sentrim.
Camp for dinner and your overnight stay.
After breakfast, you will be picked up for a morning drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, with an en-route game drive. Lake Nakuru National Park is famous worldwide for its flamingos, as the lake is alkaline and recognized as one of the world's Natural Wonders. You’ll arrive at Lake Nakuru in time for lunch and check-in.
In the afternoon, you will embark on a comprehensive game drive through this scenic park, including visits to viewpoints offering superb photo opportunities.
The park’s ecosystem supports a wide range of wildlife, including over 56 species of mammals like white rhinos and buffalo and 450 species of birds. Flamingos, greater and lesser, and other water birds are the area's major attractions. Dinner and overnight will be at Lake Nakuru Mbweha Camp.
After breakfast, check out from the camp and proceed to Maasai Mara, approximately a 5-hour drive. You will arrive at the camp in time for lunch. Maasai Mara, also known as “The Magical Mara,” is one of Kenya’s most beloved reserves and an extension of the Serengeti ecosystem to the south. Each year, the Mara becomes the staging ground for the “Great Migration,” one of the world’s most awe-inspiring natural events.
After lunch, you will depart for an afternoon game drive, where you can view the “Big Five”—the Lion, Buffalo, Elephant, Rhino, and Leopard. The Mara is also famous for its abundance of lions. Later, you will return to Zebra Plains Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Today will be a game-viewing extravaganza! Maasai Mara Game Reserve remains the most exciting wildlife ecosystem in the region. It hosts the highest and most varied concentration of wild animals compared to any other wildlife park.
The scenic beauty of the tree-studded savanna plains, moderate climate, and the diversity of wild game species make it a prime destination for game viewing activities.
You will traverse the Maasai Mara on a full day of unlimited game viewing, encountering the Big Five and other lesser-known game. Picnic lunch will be held by the Mara River, where you can see hippos and crocodiles.
After a thrilling day, you will return to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay.
After breakfast at the camp, you will check out and depart for Nairobi with a packed lunch. You will be dropped off at your hotel, pick-up location, or the airport, concluding your 5-day luxury safari adventure.

Memorable Kenya trip

Sapna Kapur's Trip to Kenya

5 /5

(Written on 11 Jul, 2025)

What's Good: Everything went smooth and was detailed. Communication was flawless. The experience was seamless and well organised. Our guide Ben was fantastic and knowledgable so we feel we made (Read More) a friend in Kenya too. James was superb in helping us plan the trip and with suggestions for stay. All in all it was such a special vacation and I can’t wait to explore more of Africa. People are great ! So warm and friendly and what a truly blessed country with so much nature and wildlife. I would highly recommend Wild Portraits and James and Ben for your travel to Kenya.
What's Not Good: please be careful while entering the country at immigration - make sure your passport is stamped. We had some issue with this. Can’t complain about anything else. It was beyond our expectations.

What's Good: The responsiveness of Christine (person overall responsible for arrangements)and knowledge from Evance (our driver and guide for national parks)about national parks was excellent. (Read More) We stayed and covered Nairobi, Masai, Naivasha and Daini.. All stays and safaris were perfect could not have asked for better.
What's Not Good: We chose Van but we think land cruiser would have been a better option especially for being comfortable in muddy terrains.

Ajith's Trip to Kenya

What's Good: After screening and talking to about 5 travel operators, I decided to go with Nature Romp for an 8 day safari in Kenya. Their rate was competitive and selection of lodges to stay v (Read More)ery good. Initially I was skeptical due to less reviews about Nature Romp in public domain. However when I talked to Yvonne, I understood that theirs is a fairly new company and decided to go with them. We (my daughter and I) opted for a private tour covering Masai Mara, Nakuru and Amboseli. We were received at the airport and the next day Yvonne, Lucy and Maxwell (guide cum driver) welcomed us at the hotel, early morning of the Safari start. We instantly felt at home and from then onwards it was a memorable trip. Our guide Maxwell is an excellent guide. He knew about birds and animals, their behavior and diligent in driving. He was always on time.
What's Not Good: Nothing in particular. Only one stay (at Naivasha) could have been closer to the national park. It was nevertheless a good place but not great for bird photography
