Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Nairobi – Samburu National Park

Pick up from the airport.
Drive north past Nanyuki and the beautiful farmlands of Timau.
Stop in Nanyuki to purchase breakfast and snacks.
Arrive in time for lunch.
Afternoon game drive in the park.
Meals included: Lunch and Dinner.
Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2 Samburu National Park

After breakfast, you will depart for a full day of game viewing in the park.
This park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including lions, elephants, and giraffes.
You will have a packed lunch in the park.
Exit the park at 4 PM and return to the lodge.
Meals included: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 3 Samburu National Park - Lake Nakuru National Park

Enjoy an early morning breakfast.
Depart for Nakuru with a brief stop in Nanyuki to purchase snacks.
Stop at the Great Rift Valley before arriving in time for lunch.
In the evening, enjoy a game drive in the park.
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4 Explore Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, you will depart for a full day of game viewing in the park.
Lake Nakuru National Park is renowned for the thousands of flamingos that inhabit its shores.
The park is home to many endangered species, including black and white rhinos, Rothschild giraffes, and elusive leopards, all of which are frequently spotted during game drives.
You may also encounter buffalo, lions, zebras, waterbucks, gazelles, impalas, hyrax, and hippos.
A packed lunch will be provided at the park.
You will exit the park at 4 PM and return to the lodge.
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 5 Lake Nakuru National Park - Masai Mara National Park

After breakfast, depart from Nakuru and proceed via Narok to Masai Mara in time for lunch.
Spend the afternoon relaxing at the hotel to recover from fatigue.
Enjoy an evening game drive in Masai Mara.
Return for dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Day 6 Full Day Masai Mara National Park Game Drive

After breakfast, depart for a full day of game viewing in the Mara.
The park is home to the Big Five, breathtaking landscapes, and a wide range of wildlife.
Enjoy a packed lunch in the park.
Exit the park at 4 PM and return to the lodge.
There is an option to visit a nearby Maasai village for an authentic cultural experience at your own cost.

Day 7 Full Day Masai Mara National Park Game Drive

Day 10 Visit Crescent Island

After breakfast, proceed to Lake Naivasha.
Use a boat to cross over to Crescent Island.
Spend a full day on the island, enjoying a nature walk with animals in a quiet and serene habitat.
Enjoy a packed lunch during your time on the island.
In the evening, drive back to the lodge, hoping to catch a magical sunset.

Day 11 Lake Naivasha - Nairobi

After breakfast, check out of the lodge before 10:00 AM.
Depart for Nairobi.
Check in at your Nairobi hotel.
Spend the afternoon relaxing at the hotel to recover from fatigue.

Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 12 Nairobi - Departure

After breakfast, you will check out of the hotel.
You will leave to catch your flight at the airport.

Just went for 8 day safari with James and Wild Portraits Safaris...it was spot o (Read More)n perfect. Reasons 1.Clear communication and replies always comes very quickly on WhatsApp. 2. Very genuine with suggestions and doesn't do things as a job or formality. 3. James is very knowledgeable. 4. The enthusiasm and passion shown by James was just so infectious. 5. The planning of itinerary takes care of all the finer details. 6. They really take care of your focus and they don't try to sell anything you are not interested in. For example we skipped the village visit because we didn't see value in it. 7. Quite flexible and adjusts as things progress.

We wanted to cover a lot of ground, and were going from one agency to another before we found Donwel as most agents couldn't quite squeeze everything we wanted into our itinerary. Judith and Christine however made it all possible. Good quality stays everywhere, regular communication through the trip to ensure we were ok and were getting what we wanted.
