Wedmore Place received positive reviews, with guests praising the friendly staff and spacious rooms. A great place to enjoy wine

The location is amazing and convenient, and the majority of the staff was friendly. The tasting room and the Gabriel Archer Tavern being so close is convenient and a great experience. The rooms are beautiful; this was not our first visit.

A bit of hair in our tub, the room temp was very chilly upon our arrival, and the toilet paper was very low quality (the value of the room vs the value of the toilet paper....I was surprised). The exception being the hair in the tub, room temp and toilet paper quality is not the end of the earth. The true disappointment was the fireplace being down. I am starting to wonder if hotels are purposefully not accommodating those that book through booking.com or a third party. We requested a specific room in advance due to it being an anniversary celebration, and confirmed in advance. At no time, did Wedmore Place or Booking inform us the fire places were down. I understand things come up, but it was specifically why we chose the Wedmore Place, the upgraded room, and confirmed ahead of time. I feel like our room should of been discounted to say the least. This makes the 3rd time, a hotel/resort "was not able" to NOT accommodate or adjust an issue we had due to making the reservation through booking. We may reconsider how we reserve our trips moving forward.

Wonderful, romantic getaway

This year, we went for the second time and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere, the rooms, the wine, the breakfast, everything is great. The staff is friendly and helpful.

A great place to stay!

I love Wedmore Place, and we stay here every time we're in Williamsburg. I've recommended it to family and friends. I love the ambiance, the service, and the facilities.

Every time I go, I look forward to having a fire in the fireplace. We came a few days ago, and they said the fireplaces weren't working. It didn't say anything on the website! I wish we had known. I was really looking forward to it. Everything else was perfect.

We had lunch on property and wine tasting then it was early enough and close enough to walk around colonial Williamsburg and come back to the relaxing and quiet room with soaking tub. Beautiful quiet room.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would consider returning.

The layout of the hotel. We liked the courtyard, European style room, spa tub, surrounding vineyards, wine available in the room, availability of massage services, breakfast, and Jo was very attentive to our needs.

We were very disappointed that we could not enjoy a fire in our room, lobby, and the outside fire pit ( broken). We were not informed that a fire was not available during our stay. Breakfast needed more vegetarian options. Some issues to resolve with room service. Suggestion: hotel events like afternoon tea or wine and cheese in beautiful library or courtyard areas.

Good stay near Colonial Williamsburg.

The property is lovely and the hotel itself is very close to being great. The location is close to Colonial Williamsburg and convenient to the visitor center parking (about a 10 minute drive).

As I said, the property is close to being great, however, a bit more care and attention to detail would take the hotel to the four star experience they advertise. The room was fine, but could have used more decorative touches and charm. The bed was ok, but the pillows pretty bad. The bathroom was long and narrow and lacked any character. The shower was a small square enclosure with a shower head that was loose and flopped around. Breakfast was nearly identical every morning and I would have appreciated more selection.

I love that each room is unique. My room was very nice and comfortable. The was a very cute courtyard with a fountain. The continental breakfast was average, but the fact that it only cost a very small amount to add it was good. The vineyard was nice and offered another unique aspect. I was offered a complimentary wine flight, which was nice.

There were a couple modern amenities that I missed. Specifically an iron and a small fridge. I only stayed one night, so not a huge deal, but if i had stayed a while it would have been a miss.

Comfortable room on the grounds of a lovely winery.

The location was convenient and the grounds were lovely. The hotel had some charming features. The pool looked clean although it was closed for the season. The breakfast was tasty. A complimentary wine flight was offered for each of us. The bed was comfortable.

The bathroom was in dire need of a makeover! An awkward lighting and layout, badly replaced floor tiles, chipped and peeling paint and black gunk in the shower.
