Perfect for a longer stay where you want to just relax and soak up the views.

The property is a solid 4 star quality with the high points being the spacious, well appointed rooms (we had Deluxe), large beds and bathrooms but the high point is of course the views. The poor weather and our short stay meant that we were unable to enjoy the other facilities including the infinity pool.

The property is a struggle to find being quite far up the hills outside Kandy and could do with better sign posting and directions from the staff. With poor weather access can also be difficult if you want to see the sights around the Lake. The staff seemed efficient without being particularly warm and the food was unremarkable (but fine for Sri Lankan 4 Star) tho we only stayed for breakfast.

Fantastic Hotel on the mountain overlooking Kandy. A 5 minute tuk-tuk drive from the center this hotel is a perfect place to stay if visiting Kandy

Amazing views

The views were amazing and the bed was big and comfortable. Food was really good! Staff were really nice and helpful.

The shower did not drain quickly, no plug sockets near the bed. Mirrors not placed in convenient places.

Great stay!

The stay in thieva residency was amazing. The infinity pool was very nice to cool down. The whole facility was very clean and the rooms and beds are amazing. We had a suite with a whirlpool bath inside which we enjoyed a lot. The room is very very big and the view from the window is simply amazing! There was a spacious and very nice bathroom! The breakfast was a dream. You can choose from a very big selection like traditional sri lankan breakfast or different kind of eggs with toasts or waffles or cereal, there was always a nice fruit plate with it aswell. The dinner is a la carte and there is a great variety of food. You can eat european or have some nice seafood or currys. We tried a lot of things and everything was delicious. The prawns were amazing and we really recommend the currys and rice. You will get a variety of 17 little bowls which were all so delicious!! The staff at the residency is very friendly and speak english very well. Everyone is so kind and helpful!! Always with a smile, like all people in sri lanka. We really enjoyed our stay here and would come back anytime!! Thank you for hosting us.

Absolutely spectacular. Best stay in Kandy

The Theva is absolutely amazing. We enjoyed our stay here so much, I wish we didnt have to leave. The view is unbelievable, the staff are so friendly and helpful. The food, coffee and drinks were delicious. I cant recommend The Theva enough.
