Lovely spacious rooms in urban location

Room was very spacious

Room was not available at 4pm for check-in. There was a delay of two hours due to the room not being clean. Staff was very nice about the delay and provided a credit but it was very strange - Ive never had such a significant delay.

Luxury experience wasnt what it could be

Pleasant decore, comfortable beds & furniture. Mostly attentive & pleasant staff. Club lounge very relaxing & well catered.

Poorly maintained. Shower that had to be handheld to be able to get under the water stream due to broken wall fixture. In 5 days no one came to fix it. Housekeeping had to be called on 2 occasions to come & makeup the room after we had been out most of the day. Spa, pool & hotel car facilities were absent despite being promoted on hotel website. Disappointing for this level of luxury price. Staff tried hard but it was clear there were deficiencies & lack of experience In various departments. The luxury experience just wasnt what it could be. Local area unpleasant to walk around due to commercial decline & sadly many homeless people camping.

My stay was okay, however for the Ritz and $1K per night, I expected more. I request a consession

I stayed in a suite for two nights paying $2K, I stayed on lessor expensive rooms and had a better experience. I honestly cant put my finger on it but it was not a wow feeling. The room was dark, not a lot of natural light. There was a stale smell to the room, although it was clean. I really feel I paid too much for the room and would appreciate a discount of 15%. The hotel had low occupancy, I should have got a better room at a better rate. I would love to get a response to my request. Thank you. Steve Bowdry
