Shreegandha Homestay, Somvarpet

Excellent homestay, if you are looking for a place where you wake up to nature, peace and delicious breakfast, this is the place to be. It is clean, host is an excellent cook (dont miss her fish curry!) and it is far away from the noisy crowded city. Its quite a ride to the key sights in Coorg but definitely worth it. We spent 3 days here, were spoilt with amazing food and the place is nice and warm even in winters.

Owner of the property is very welcoming. They took care of us at their level best. Specially Aunty is taking care of all food items and uncle took us to show his own property of coffee plantation. they had arranged bonfire for us. Nice Host. Breakfast was really good.

The property is far away form main locations of COORG. It will take you 1 hr drive from Kushalnagar as well as Madikeri. Only you can reach here in time if you have your own vehicle. And in such a distance location the price is more ( My opinion).

A very pleasant homestay surrounded with coffee plantations and greenery. Food was homemade and we have homemade wines as well which tastes good. Overall an exceptional one.

The host were very warm and welcoming.

VERY GOOD BREAKFAST AND OTHER MEALS TOO, CHAPATIS COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER THOUGH. LOCATION WAS EXCELLENT TOO THOUGH VERY CUT OFF FROM CIVILIZATION, SANDHYA RANI IS A VERY GOOD HOST, THIS HOMESTAY IS IDEAL FOR A GROUP OF 6 OR 7 REVELLERS, JUST A COUPLE MAY FEEL A BIT LOST, IF U HAVE A GROUP OF 6 OR 7 COUPLES U CAN BOOK THE adjacent homestay called the HILLWOOD cottages owned by sandhya's cousin and the holiday will become much more exciting ,

the quality of chapati (roti) needs to be better ,, cant blame sandhya she has never made rotis in her life, location though v beautiful feels a bit too remote at night ,, ideal for groups of 3 couples or more

Location is perfect. Even better than my imagination. Also, if you like to drive then it's a bonus for you to reach there. Food is absolutely delicious and you'll always get more than what you have asked for. Even 4 of us weren't able to finish everything. Mr & Mrs Krishnappa are a beautiful and nice couple. They took care of us extremely well. Their son, Vedanth, was always there to help. Thank Vedanth for suggesting the Neelakurinji flower valley (Kotte Betta). We'll always cherish those moments. They have fulfilled our every request.

The ambience of the house could have been better in my opinion. The bedrooms lack ventilation. Also, the pillow feels very old and clumsy. 24 hour availability of hot water would have been great. WiFi Network: It would be better to get the wifi signal in the whole house as mobile networks are not available.
