Shame some money cant be spent on updating the rooms

Its a lovely building, good position, the staff were very friendly and helpful.

What lets this hotel down is the dated rooms which are small and in need of modernisation. The room was warm and the hot water plentiful, but the bed was so uncomfortable. It was a pleasure to get up and out of it. My husband also had an allergic response to the room and we suspect the dander in the mattress was probably the culprit- his symptoms got better when we left the room.

AWFUL !!!!! It ruined our weekend

We didnt get there as 2 days before we went they telephoned to say that they had coach parties in who wanted more rooms so they had to accommodate them and offered us a room at their sister Hotel The Waverley and we would have the best room on offer We didnt have a choice as such short notice so accepted as we were offered the best room at The Waverley which was absolutely awful.

The Waverley was hot dark and depressing. The bathroom needed desperately updating it was scruffy and dirty The Mattress on the bed was so thin we could feel the springs in our backs The room was airless and hot (luckily we took a fan) the plug in the sink didnt work and water sprayed from the tap over the floor when turned on The room was quite large but we had to chairs facing the door which was bizarre
