JOKA-JOKA Guesthouse is conveniently located near the church and various restaurants, with a 7/11 nearby. The beds were private and although there was no AC, there were plenty of ventilators. The rec (Read More)eption staff was friendly and taught the guests some Malaysian words. The showers and toilets were clean. The staff, particularly a woman named Norma, was helpful and caring. The place is well-maintained and the boss is friendly. It is recommended for its great location, cleanliness, and kind staff.

Disappointing

The staff was friendly. Nevertheless, there were musty smells all over the guesthouse even in our room. Somehow, the blanket provided is not enough for two people as i booked the standard double room. I expected the blanket would be at least fit enough for a couple but it dont. Moreover, the water heater was broken so we could not use the water heater.

Pleasant stay for a short trip

Very close to the main attractions;no car needed.The receptionist is very helpful.The property has air-conditioners and fans.They provide lockers as well.They have pantry with fridge and microwave.Quite safe since key card needed for entry.The capsules are suitable for backpackers.But they also have private rooms for families.

Slight smell for capsules room and the water pressure is quite weak.Others is ok.

Great location and staff friendly

There's an extra fee of 3RM per night/ per bed on top of the tax paid on booking.com. Lockers are very small, for double bed booking it has space for one smaller backpack. There's only one bathroom for at least 24 people if its a full room. Shower is pretty much always cold which isn't fun washing your hair. You can use the bathroom upstairs but you need to ask staff and the staff aren't always there. Kept clean but it all needs updated. Bed spaces are small, nowhere to hang your things or store things so we ended up sleeping with certain things for space. Some hanging space is needed and more storage. Kitchen is minimal and you use the kitchen sink to brush your teeth. No hob or microwave. Does have a rice cooker and water dispenser with hot and cold water. It's ok for a few days stay.

Only one bathroom and one shower for all. disgusting!! It smells bad all the time and there was no table and kitchen.

Pleasant

Great location but could be better for the price

The hostel is really well located, very close to the main square. The staff is really friendly and helpful. I liked the bed itself as well, since it's in a big capsule that doesn't feel cramped. The locker was nice and big as well.

The toilet could really be better. And on both times I showered, there was no hot water. It was lucky that the weather was so hot, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to shower with cold water. Also there's no common area except for the kitchen which is not such a comfortable space. That didn't matter so much for me but for most backpackers it's an important detail.
