The room at ibis Styles Hamburg Barmbek was a bit hot, but otherwise acceptable for the price. The hotel was clean and tidy with friendly staff. The location was convenient with easy access by S-Bahn (Read More), and there were restaurants and a supermarket nearby. The hotel had a good bar and restaurant, and late arrivals didn't have to go looking for dinner. The breakfast service was well organized, but there were limited options for vegetarians.

Very good

The front desk staff were (by the check-in and check-out time) both very friendly and nice! Also fulfilled my special request for a higher floor. The location is absolutely great, 2mins walk to the U-Bahn station The room is clean and the hairdryer is powerful. My room's view is not facing any other building, but the railway tracks and a landscape view, so it's really nice. And the sound-proof of the window is also very sufficient.

I only stayed for 1 night, and the next day around an hour before my check-out time (12:00), a possibly cleaning lady knocked on the door several times, I answered but I was in the bathroom, she opened the door and realized that I was still in the room, so she closed the door and left. Then around 11:30, a possibly security guy knocked on the door again, I opened the door and asked what he needed and that I'll be checking out soon. He said he's just checking if I'm still here... This experience was awkward and uncomfortable, I hope the hotel may keep a system for the staff to know which room is going to check out on what day, so as not to mistake the rooms by just judging whether a guest hangs any tags on the door or not.

We werent informed that the air condition was not on and though it was raining outside, it was very warm inside the room so we kept the windows open the whole time and it was a little noisy outside.

Staff are kind and helpful.

The room was small and there was nothing except shampoo, not even water. The quality of the breakfast product was good, but some things were insufficient, such as the cheese varieties, the entire price of the night's accommodation. Despite this, it was not considered appropriate.

Super convenient train links and helpful staff.

It was a return visit - the staff kindly stored a bag for me for a week and I returned to Hamburg to meet my wife when she arrived. Very easy transport link from the airport and very close to the station at Barmbek.

The room was a little small for two people (no suitcase room).
