Hotel Totara in Masaki, Dar es Salaam is generally very good with excellent customer care and an excellent breakfast. Prices have unfortunately been raised. The hotel has smoking and non-smoking room (Read More)s. Nearby activities include a massage place, supermarket, night clubs, and restaurants. The neighborhood is safe. The hotel has a pond of fishes and a good swimming pool. The staff are fluent in English and very helpful. The rooms are big with required amenities. The breakfast is great and they offer afternoon tea. The entire hotel is kept immaculate and clean.

Check in wasnt as accommodating, I arrived early and staff made no effort to check if we could do an early check in. Sat in the heat for 3hrs before I could check in

Friendly staff

The hotel does not have a restaurant, they provide breakfast and afternoon tea which is just muffins and sandwiches. Also the laundry service is self-service, the power goes regularly and it can take most of the day to get the laundry washed and dried.

Very nice boutique hotel fort both business and holiday

We liked everything: The old and tasteful architecture, the garden, the friendly staff, nice rooms, location. Breakfast was perfect, lots of choice and lots of fresh products. Transportation from and to the airport worked well. The staff helped us to get Bolts in town too. Several nice restaurants in the vicinity, perfect location away from the quite ugly down-town Dar. We also walked to the Tingatinga co-operative and ran in the neighbourhood. Very good value for money! We will recommend to everybody and would certainly stay again.

Nice Stay, Clean, Comfy and Great Garden and Pool!!

The Pool, clean linen, centrallyt located, nice gardens.

Hi The only improvement I would say is the breakfast. It would be good to offer guests fried eggs and bacon or an omelet. To only have boiled eggs is not enough. A better choice of healthy cereals could also work.

Perfect boutique hotel for good value

Great atmosphere, good value for money. We loved the garden and good feeling. Old building, nice rooms, super nice staff, good breakfast and afternoon tea even included.

Good for the price we paid

Bed was very large and confortabile. It is a good option, especially for the good report quality-price.

It was a mold smell n our room, and carpet n living was not clean. Breakfast was acceptabile, although we didnt find many dishes for our taste.

Two relaxing days in Dar Es Salaam

I am very glad we stayed here after our safari. The hotel is modern and clean, the breakfast and teatime are very good and we gladly used the free laundry service. The pool was much needed in the heat of Dar Es Salaam. There are restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance, also a good pizza place right in front of the hotel. I would stay here again!
