Good

Charming, but with a few downsides

A charming hotel in a nice location (despite the noise). The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast at Brder Ost was nice. The staff was ok, they were nice in giving us a different room when the first was too noisy.

The rooms were a bit noisy, first room we were assigned was right below a loud ventilator above the patio. We were moved to another room which was better, but was on the side of the freeway, so still quite a bit of noise. The showerhead was ridiculously low, which meant that showering was annoying. I had to crouch to even git my shoulders underneath, let alone my head. The 'honor bar' being so out in the open seemed a bit weird, for one because it took away so much space on the desk, but also because it was a bit 'in your face' to have these too expensive food and drink items placed out in the open.

Nice lobby, clean room

Room too small for 2 beds. Tiny bathroom, sink inside the room with nothing to put our toiletries. Had to use the bed.

My partner and I love historic hotels. They are such a fun peak into early 1900 travel and accommodations. This spot is definitely going to the top of our list! We will be back for sure!

Perfect pooch friendly stay in Hood River.

Lovely historic building right in downtown Hood River, excellent off season pricing, dog friendly with a reasonable pet deposit and a cute little doggie gift bag included. The Norwegian breakfast in the downstairs restaurant was a nice and delicious surprise. Well definitely be back!

Once room was heated it was fine , rustic alpine ambience.

Room and location were great . Room was about 45 degrees and very cold . No heat on when I arrived . Had to crank a portable heater and turn on the hair dryer to reach a comfortable temperature . Took a few hours

Superb

The perfect place to kick off winter break with good friends!

It was centrally located on the main street, allowing us to walk almost everywhere we wanted to go. I also appreciated that the fire was going the whole time, and it was decorated for the holidays. That added to its cozy ambience.

I wish we would have been warned about the radiator being on when we got there, when we got back to our room late that first evening, our room was sweltering. It took a while for it to cool off and become comfortable for sleeping.

Winter stay was cold

The space was large, had a full kitchen with all the utensils, and a fair sized bedroom with a comfy bed.

The place had furnace heating, which was not great, didn't ever get warm in the unit. We stayed in December and it's pretty cold that time of year. It would have been nice to know there was a space heater in the closet when we checked in. Also the garden view is a small rooftop with a few planters on it.

It was ok for a night.

The location is good to shops and restaurants in the downtown area. Bed was comfortable and the shower had great water pressure.

We didnt care for the old appliance/kitchen area. Parking ok on the street but their recommended parking lot was further away from where we felt comfortable to leave our car.
