A very handy and cheap way to see Dubai

The location couldnt have been better for a solo stay in Dubai! Literally on the marina, and very close to the beach. I have stayed in many different hostels across the world and HomeStar has been one of the cleanest. Option of lockers in the rooms to keep valuables. Boris a great host who is present almost all of the time and when hes not there he is contactable. Great way to meet other solo travellers. There are some long term/ regular residents in the hostel which I think is a good reflection of how it is as a facility. Option of doing your own thing or mingling with the other residents as you please.

There were some draining issues in one of the showers however like I said as a hostel it was on the whole cleaner and better than hostels Ive stayed in previously.

The fine art of gracious hospitality...

I want to say a big thank you to Boris from the hostel staff. This Hostel was the best which gave a pleasant color to my solo trip. A place where everyone is very warm and friendly towards each other, so close like a family. From the balcony here you have the opportunity to see one of the best views of the city. The rooms, the bedding, everything smells so sweet. Cleaning was done every morning and evening. The location is close to all forms of public transport. In the courtyard of the building there were supermarkets, a pharmacy, a gym, a beauty salon, which made the area even more comfortable. The beach was very close it was about 8 minutes away. I can say for sure that I will come back again.

Very good

Good value for the money, recommend for backpackers or for light-work budget business travelers.

The staff is very accommodating, the location is amazing, very close to the tram station connecting you to the dubai metro network, its within walking distance from the beach and there are close fast food and sit down restaurants.

Given that it is a dormitory, youll have to adjust your personal space and privacy preferences to fit in that of the reality presented.
