Very good

When we checked in we were told the lobby bar was open 24hrs for food/drinks. However when we returned from our Xmas party at the NEC we were told the bar was closed due to under occupancy. Surely they knew when we checked in how many rooms they had occupied.

Very poor

Terrible, would not stay again!

Staff were friendly, Andrea was a superstar!!! Breakfast was good

There was no heating in the room, we then had 2 power cuts. A portable heater was given but kept causing power to cut in room heater also stopped working so room was freezing- we also had our 6 year old daughter with us. They gave us another room. The heating was not working in there either.

Poor stuff management

Its a nice and big hotel, great location. Walking distance to the Birmingham international train station and 10 minutes drive to the airport.

I stayed 3 nights including the New year night. It was advertised that we will have plenty of food options, amazing service, spa included and more. In reality, management didnt secure enough stuff members to provide this service for all guests, main restaurant was simply closed, for the spa I had to reserve a slot which no one told me about, my room was cleaned only once and because I asked for that, front desk was impossible to reach and they never delivered what I asked for, queues everywhere to get food and drinks and to be fare food options was very limited, not healthy and overpriced. Oh and even to check in, we all had to queue up for 1,5 hours! Only time I had to go to the gym and stretch myself after a long train journey. Management team might say that its because they had lots of guests for the dance festival Hilton is hosting every year, BUT all dancers booked hotel way in advance and submitted non-refundable deposit, so they was well aware of the number of guests arriving.

Disappointing

The worse hotel experience I have encountered .

The room was clean , except for the bath that needed cleaning around the plug. The room was comfortable & a reasonable size. Breakfast was well stocked. Staff friendly but were unable to resolve my complaints.

The swimming pool was freezing cold, so I had a disappointed 5 yr old. The boiler had broken two days prior to my visit, & could not be mended as the manager was on leave, I was told my a member of staff! The main evening restaurant was closed until 12th January, which was not mentioned at the point of booking. The only point for our main meal was the bar area. Basic drinks were not in stock to purchase. E.G apple & pineapple juice. There was nothing suitable to children to drink other the cordial, which tasted awful. Tomato sauce a basic condiments were out of stock at meal time. The bar area where food had to be ordered was cold. Ppl were seated in coats. In our bedroom, the toilet would not always flush or if it did the tank kept running. Outside bedrooms on 4th floor, dirty plates with food & drink were left for over 20 hrs. They were not collected at the point of our departure.

overnight stay for a concert very convenient 5 mins walk.

Rip off!

This hotel is a rip off. The food in exec lounge has really gone down hill and it was far too hot and busy in there. We ordered burgers and chips in the main bar and it was horrible, really poor quality. You only get one 300ml bottle of water in the room. 180 quid for one night. I wouldnt recommend it unless you have no other choice
