Exceptional

Our stay at Explorar was exceptional. The staff were so attentive, friendly and helped in any way they could, the food was incredible - the best hotel breakfast we've ever had and lots of options for different dietary requirements for the in-room and restaurant dining. The pool was incredible and the view of the ocean is breathtaking. Although there isn't a beach, you can still swim in the ocean directly from the hotel steps and walk further along the coast to other beaches close by. It was so great having 24-hour service, using the hotel app to communicate with staff/order and receiving bottles of water whenever we needed. The room was clean and comfy. I would definitely come back again.

That we had to leave! The food/drinks were also expensive and everything you order to eat/drink at the hotel has an extra 17% charge on top and it really adds up in the end. It's easy to spend a few hundred here without knowing over just a few days. It was a shame the TVs were so old and didn't have any capabilities to screen mirror/use streaming services.

Love it!

This is my favorite hotel in Samui if you are traveling solo or as a couple. Great rooms and amenities, fabulous service team that really cares about providing the best experience. Crazy good breakfast. Pool is great, just by the sea. Do rent a moped to move around the island. Thank you Jan and whole team for making me extended my stay so many times . Cant wait to be back.

quiet and intimate hotel

large clean room, very comfortable beds, quiet and nice surroundings. Excellent and rich breakfast.

Few opportunities for shops and restaurants in the vicinity. The hotel restaurant is nice, but overpriced, most of the guests went out to eat. Missing beach thanks to the storm :-( Long pool, but the wall is crazy. Few places to lie down. The hotel did not offer any excursion program.

Superb

The hotel itself was stunning. Great views from pool, bar, and restaurant. Quite luxurious. Our room was a deluxe room with a plunge pool. The room was immaculate, the bed huge and very comfy. There was a fridge with a selection of soft drinks and beers. The restaurant serves a huge selection of local and international foods. The paths around the hotel were colourful and well maintained. The spa onsite is fabulous. Great to have no kids running about.

The plunge pool had hard plastic chairs rather than the blue cushions shown in the pictures. Our plunge pool and decking area got no sun at all, which was disappointing. The fridge could do with more of a selection. Ie. Gin and tonic rather than just beer. The service in the restaurant can be a bit slow. Lots of staff, but they don't give individual attention to your table. Ie. Lack of attention to needs. Ie. Drinks refilling, clearing of plates. (Too many cooks springs to mind) As we were leaving for the airport in our hotel car, someone literally ran after us to ask if we had eaten a packet of nuts, which we had not declared. (We had previously given them a note of the 1 x beer we had drunk the previous night when checking out.) We had bought our own of packet of nuts at the 7Eleven when we were at the market. So this was a bit of an overkill and a bit embarrassing and really quite unnecessary.

Superb

Glorious few days of pure relaxation

I loved the 'beach' area, it is not directly on the beach but just a few steps away and the hotel has created a beach feel. Pool area was perfect and catering was great. Loved happy hours. Breakfast was wonderful. Travelling alone was easy at this property. Tikkhi at the beach club was always making a difference to my day - it matters when you are a solo traveller :)

Not much to be honest, nothing comes to mind.

Superb

Excellent breakfast, staff, commodity, and facilities. Private and relaxing.

Service is a bit delayed in the restaurant (but food during dinner and breakfast is delicious!). Only in one of the days the cleaning of the room was not up to standards (floor not cleaned and no new toilet paper roll).

The Hotel that Goes Beyond Beyond!

The hotel is so beautiful, the food including breakfast were outstanding. They have a wood fire pizza oven with the most delicious pizza and a grill. Special touches like a face mask in the womens toiletry bag. The spa is 5 star from start to finish with delicious teas on arrival and at the end. Selecting the natural oils and scrubs. I entered the spa completely stressed and came out feeling pampered and a new me. The thing that puts this hotel in another category is the staff. They dont go beyond, but beyond beyond. Making sure that every need is met with a true commitment to excellence. Thank you Tiki for always helping us. Special thanks to Jon who has to be one of the hardest working people I have ever met and is obviously the best at what he does ensuring that your stay is a special one. We had an incredible time and thank you to everyone!
