Disappointing

Cold! But a new boiler is only one of the problems here (and perhaps the easiest to fix)

Staff friendly and wanted to offer good service, if somewhat undertrained.

Our stay wasn't helped by the fact that the hotel boiler had broken down - however we weren't told this until we arrived, at which point it was too late to cancel and find somewhere else to stay. Our bedroom had been warmed with three oil-filled radiators, but the bathroom was icy cold as - understandably - they couldn't put an electric heater in there. The room itself had a lingering smell of stale smoke - whilst guests smoking in a room is not the hotel's fault, housekeeping not spotting it and airing the place is. The lack of heating notwithstanding, the hotel looks tired inside, with the public area carpets needing a good vacuum at the time of our stay. Dinner in the restaurant was good - the soup excellent - and the service friendly if somewhat slow. By the time dessert arrived we were so cold we left it and headed back to our room for a coffee. Breakfast the next morning was uninspiring - good porridge, dreadful coffee, the choice of fruit/yoghurt/pastries at the buffet sparse. Overall, having booked a 200 a night room at what looked to be a nice country house hotel, we were left disappointed by what actually seems to be primarily a low-budget wedding venue. Whilst retaining it's elegant frontage, the hotel needs investment in maintenance both inside and outdoors.

Our second stay to a most personal, friendly, dog and family friendly luxury hotel, excellent stay

So close to our daughters house in a beautiful countryside setting but 5 miles or less from city center

A fault that was soon Rectified an intermittent hot then cold shower but soon sorted very efficiently

I love this place. This is now the third time I have stayed and it never fails to deliver. Gorgeous architecture, lovely decor and to top it all my absolute favourite shower gel!!

Amazing hotel & amazing staff

This hotel has the most attentive staff I have ever seen. My partner has Coeliac disease & a couple of allergies and they were absolutely amazing about it: they double-checked everything and he felt really safe to eat. The food is exceptional! They make everything from scratch, even the bread. The room was very comfortable, clean and impeccably decorated. We cannot wait to go back!

Superb

A fantastic stay at Caistor Hall- we will be back!

Fantastic stay. Everywhere is spotlessly clean, staff are friendly and welcoming and the rooms are lovely! Michelle at breakfast was so lovely, she really made our trip. Please tell her we said a huge thank you!

There were some potholes that need filling on the driveway. Also, our bedroom didnt have a radiator/heated towel rail in the bathroom so it was a little cold in there!

Gorgeous building, warm welcome , friendly staff, excellent food & wine Beautiful soft furnishings

Our bed ! It was awful . It was such a shame as it looked amazing but it was a nightmare to sleep on . The mattress sank in the middle terrible , making it impossible to sleep probably, I woke frequently due to back pain . The second night I actually spent the night on cushions on the floor ! Also on arrival I realised that the bathroom door wouldnt shut ,I reported it & was told it would be fixed the following day while we were out . This never happened.

great hotel, great location ,

Breakfast was very good and was hot. pastries were given to you but i would have preferred to choose my own. Room was lovely and very clean, walk in shower , water temperature was fine. Tea & Coffee facilities in room , would have preferred known named tea bags if i had a choice. Staff friendly and very helpful
