Tranquil, peaceful and so much fun

Zen is completely zen! Sarah one of the owners is amazing, so hospitable and informative about the local area and places we wanted to adventure. The pictures do not do it justice as it's even more beautiful in person. The space is clean, the food is great and the staff are extremely friendly. It was a brilliant choice and we had such an amazing time and is suitable for solo or group trvallers

1 hour from the airport but you can visit places on the journey to help time go quicker and fit in more excursions.

A one of a kind place

A one of a kind place. We felt welcome and could relax and de-stress! We truly recommend this accommodation! Location: Although not at the beach, its literally a short stroll across the road. It also makes it a quite place, ideally to relax. Service: Staff was exceptionally welcoming and helped with all your questions. We were also happily surprised by the effort they do to reduce platsic waste. You can for example refill your waterbottle for free. Depending on the time and energy you want to put into negotiation during your holidays we do recommend to arrange an airportshuttle through uber or negotiate with a taxidriver at the airport itself. Booking a car for the whole week and picking it up in the airport is an even better idea. Also the laundry and daytours can be found cheaper (negotiate the trips by going with your own car) Room: The room is spacious, with a lovely outside bathroom, with good shower pressure and always hot water, airconditioning, silent refrigerator and water cooker with coffee and tea. Everyday your room is cleaned and you get clean towels for the bedroom + additional ones for the swimmingpool. A plus was the fresh water refilled in a glass bottle everyday in the room included in the package. Breakfast: The breakfast was delicious with fresh fruits, granola, yoghurt, eggs, pancakes, smoothie, fresh baked sweets the best!

If you are looking for a place where you really want to unwind and also experience genuine hospitality? Then look no further, Zen Boutique is then the place you want to be. A high-quality location with lovely rooms and fantastic facilities. All the staff are there for you whenever you need anything, they really take the word service to the next level. The property was super amazing! From the layout, to the flowery garden, and the creme de la creme was the outdoor bathroom with shower!!!! Sarah is an amazing hostess with the mostest. And he husband is one hell of a dj. His "Girl I'll house you" says it all! Old skool acid house brought back memories of my younger partying days! I will definitely return and buyout the entire property next year!!!!!!

Best place we have ever stayed!

Me and my partner initially booked to stay at Zen for 3 nights! We had the most wonderful/peaceful/incredible stay there. All the staff at Zen go above and beyond to ensure you have a fantastic time and they really made our stay so personal and special. Sarah and Tys story is very inspiring! They have built the place from scratch and it is presented so beautifully. The rooms are lovely & bright, comfy and very clean. My personal favourite is the outdoor bathroom! The outdoor area is great with a large pool, lots of sun loungers and lots of beautiful plants/flowers. We really enjoyed going to their Burnt Orange rooftop lounge in the evenings to watch the sunset with a cocktail. Zen is a short and easy walk from a very peaceful area of the beach that was one of our favourite spots on the island to have a sea swim. You can easily order taxis to wherever you may need to go around the Island. The food is also delicious. Looked forward to breakfast every morning, it filled me up for the entire day! Highly recommend the seafood platter for dinner! :-) We loved this place so much that we changed our plans and came back for the last 6 nights of our trip. Really cant thank the entire team at Zen enough, the most impressive bunch of lovely people and we feel very lucky to have experienced staying there and hope to visit again one day in the future!

Amazing hotel, beautiful and peaceful

Everything was great, the garden and the pool are amazing, the rooms very confortable and tasteful. The whole place is extremely quiet and peaceful. The staff is lovely and will do anything they can to help. Good breakfast.

The hotel is a bit isolated, its a 15' walk from Jambiani village and the beach but easy to do by foot/scooter. The curtains in the room dont provide full opacity in the morning.

Beautiful stay surrounded by flowers

Absolutely beautiful, set amongst flowers and trees with comfortable and modern separate bungalows. There are so many little spots around the pool and in the ground to relax and just chill. And the balcony to view the sunset is a really nice touch given this is often not possible this side of the island

It is a walk to the beach but once you know it its very quick and straightforward - Jambiani is such a lovely safe area with a real local feel and the beach here is so calm compared to busy Paje

Iv been meaning to write this review and compliment the owners, Sarah and Tai, on how great this resort is and what a beautiful job they have done. It was by far the nicest place we stayed on our 3 week holiday to Zanzibar. The owners came to say hi to us the day after we arrived which I thought was lovely. We stayed for 5 nights and it was amazing. The room was very spacious and airy, and it was cleaned very well each day. The outdoor bathroom was really what made me want to book this place and it did not disappoint. Listening to the birds or cricket's I had the most relaxing showers iv had in my life. Staff particularly in the restaurant, mj and Faustin were very attentive and friendly. My partner said the lobster was the best he's ever eaten. The Breakfast selection was great and il miss the French toast and pastries. Well done to the chef!

Sad to say my partner and I found the receptionist to be a little bit unfriendly and unprofessional with her comments at times, particularly the day we were checking out. This had very little impact on our overall opinion of the place and we will definitely return
