Enjoyable last minute arrangement and welcoming staff at Reception, Bar and Breakfast

Reserved at an excellent price including breakfast. Have stayed before so all the usual facilities were as they are normally. Receptionist 'Sue' provided a warm and friendly welcome from the rain and wind Henk was throwing down. I had friends join me for a meal which they enjoyed at The Carvery.

Unfortunately, there was an issue with the shower and bath in my room 103, as well as being a very tight fit as the door nearly skims the sink when opening it, hardly allowing for a cat, let alone swinging it. Other rooms have better space. Although my friends enjoyed the Carvery, I felt it wasn't at the usual high quality from my previous visits, however, the choice was good.

If youre not expecting the Ritz this will do nicely

Location, still, packing. Location as we were scouting the area to relocate. I love old building. This is lake out very well with a great views. Ample parking ,not crowded. Average priced rooms

Toilet in room 114 to close to sink and wall, a larger person may have problems

Very genuine review of an ex good hotel thats rapidly gone down hill. Its really gone down hill. Genuine review here, Ive been staying at this hotel for about 8 years. Multiple times throughout the year, its my very last. I am going to explore Hotel Victoria or Hatfield or the Premier Inn. Wherry has deteriorated quickly. The hotel is extremely dated. The wallpaper falling off walls, bathrooms absolutely reek of sewerage, mould.. Our carpets in the bedrooms have huge holes in them and very much stained beyond the point where its just taking the pi**. They need to be replaced for sure. The stairs are similar too. So im assuming other rooms are the same. Staff have no idea whats going on. Night porter (London/Essex Accent) told me EV charging through a window hes seen before, but Luke / sue said this is not true - Not sure why I would of brought it into context if this was not true. I paid extra for a dog, but regardless im paying more than other customers without a dog, so why should I put up with massive holes in carpets, mould, filthy bathrooms and a terrible upkeep of the hotel. This is a budget hotel right now yet charging 90-110 a night. I assume there is rooms that allow dogs which are located on the front. If so, these should be cheaper.. Extremely loud, dirty yet they are charged the same as the rest of the hotel plus a pet surcharge Things really arent adding up. I believe wherry hotel should definitely have EV charging regardless. Breakfast is atrocious. All frozen food. Use to come here when it was decent all you can eat. Fresh good fruit, wide selection of continental. Now its not worth waking up for. Head to the Old Diary opposite. Fruit was past its best life, the breakfast bap was definitely frozen sausages and pure fat bacon. Croissants were packaged and not even fresh/ freshly baked. Surely you can see that this hotel and service is on a very very downward spiral, which is going down rather quickly.

Clean, charming , comfortable.

Breakfast good. Rooms clean and comfortable. Domestic staff friendly and work hard.

I didnt like telephone call offering me a room with a view if I changed my booking with them direct. I was my 55th birthday and they would know this from check in date so room with a view would have been a nice touch without changing who I booked with. Carvery ( additional charge ) was not good. Meat nice. Veg hard. Potatoes not roasted through.

Exceptional

Great location for the Broads and near the local train station. Hotel was clean and reasonably priced. Had all the basics in the room.

Can be a bit noisy for a light sleeper as it's near to a venue that plays music althougj it doesnt go on late into the night.. Wasn't, however, a problem for me, and I will return.

Beautiful majestic hotel on the Broads

Great location Fabulous view Spacious room Great breakfast

Its a working hotel / restaurant / party venue so a bit of noise in during the (weekend) evening is inevitable. We were fine with it, but if you want absolute solace and quiet, perhaps try somewhere else
