Very good

A good well appointed shepherd hut. Warm, clean and great little extras provided. The owner was helpful and really nice.

Unfortunately the hut wasn't level. Made it a little strange when sleeping as you felt you were rolling out of bed. Otherwise perfect.

Great place to stay, be aware of Wi-Fi issues and windows letting light in early on.

Great value, clean, friendly hosts, lovely area and the Hut was such a nice place to stay for something different. Bus stop 2 minute walk away too. Beautiful views and good shops etc. within good distance. Host was helpful with heating, electrics and advice and was very welcoming. Host did also try and help with the Wi-Fi but it's clearly just a proximity issue (I'd recommend an extender to be plugged in at the Hut). Overall great stay.

Wi-Fi was not good, could barely connect and had to use data most of the time. No blinds other than on main window meaning light came in from early hours (also felt a bit uncomfortable in terms of privacy). Also is very much close to the house meaning you do feel a bit like you're in someone's garden when the photos show it as more secluded.

We have a lovely stay at waterside. Beautiful surroundings and the hut itself was so cosy.

Beautiful location- away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The shepherds hut is surrounded by fields and you can watch the horses and dogs from afar.

No improvements- we had a lovely stay.

Trouble sleeping

The location was great for us as we visited Flamingoland and York. It was clean with easy parking. There is a bus stop very close by but it was 20 minutes late going to York and coming back it would have been a 45 minute wait so we got an Uber which cost 25.

It was too noisy for us. Other reviewers didnt seem bothered by it but the combination of the road, train and the fridge impacted on our sleep significantly. My partner wanted to leave after the first night but he did sleep better the 2nd night. We also found that with it not being level the bathroom door closes over and bangs unless being guided and I felt off balance at times. When leaving with our luggage my partner stood in dog poo that was on the walking path from the hut, this was disgusting to clean off so be aware as the path isnt very well lit at night.

Lovely hosts, lovely stay, No WiFi

No WiFi available at the property whatsoever for our stay! This did have a bit of an impact as we would have liked to have watched some shows at night but were unable to do so. Hosts did try to fix but were unable, unlucky I guess.

Not a lot. Wife hated it and didnt want to return after going into York to drop a car back. It was handy to bus services into York & Leeds which ran regularly. Not much else.

To start with, we had no internet or tv. The dwelling is an old style gypsy van that was very small, was not level, no room to keep any luggage as we were travelling from overseas. Although the pictures on booking.com were actual photos but looks can be deceiving. The bed was no bigger than a king single and if you were 6 or over, you would most like be touching the walls end to end.

Superb

Lovely little hut, affordable.

Exactly as described and had everything we needed. The bed was very comfy, heater worked excellently and the bathroom was great. Kitchen had every amenity necessary. Everything super clean. Excellent little hut.

Quite close to the house and other cottage, so hard to forget you are in someone's garden but that obviously isn't the owners fault. Also only just off the A64 so there is traffic noise but this didn't bother us.
