The perfect escape

What a wonderful place to escape to for a night. The outdoor hot tub and sauna were just what I needed after a chaotic week, utter bliss. The property is beautifully finished and the location is super quiet. There are some gorgeous woodland runs/walks close by too!! 10/10 will defo be going back

Highly recommend. Perfect cosy, secluded, romantic getaway to properly unwind!

We had an amazing few days away at The Retreat and would highly recommend for a nice romantic getaway! Everything was superb... location, access and our brilliant private, cosy accommodation. We loved the hot tub and looking up at the stars of an evening! Shame we didn't get time to use the sauna as well! The bed was really comfy and a decent size and the bathroom shower was soooo good! We even got used to the cows in the field! Well, I wear earplugs anyway so it didn't bother me. You might need some if you're a light sleeper! We had such a lovely time, in fact THE best time as we got ENGAGED!!

......lack of hanging space for towels as we had 4 on the go and so had to hang towels on doors and there was nowhere to hang coats...would highly recommend some hooks in the hallway! Also, a mat to put your wet/muddy shoes on to avoid getting the cream carpet dirty! We had to put our shoes upside down in the bedroom after taking them off outside. Again nothing major just little improvements here and there. Would also recommend putting the dressing table back in the bedroom and shifting things around a bit as there is not enough space when using kitchen facilities. It would mean you could have another work surface there. We still managed though! Maybe a footstool for the sofa as it's not that big! Don't ask for much do I?!! Ha ha! Don't forget to take cooking oil if you're planning on making food as we forgot! We also took an oven meal - there is no oven only a hob and microwave! Our fault for not checking properly! It did say that we would have bathrobes, but there weren't any? Luckily we had our own. Also there were no board games as mentioned. These are all nice to have things but by no way spoil anything! We would still highly recommend! Thank you - The Retreat!!

It was handy for the larmer Tree.

Sofa bed was uncomfortable and the biggest coffee table which was in the way too big for the room.

Perfect place to stay for wedding at Larmer Tree

Easy check in, great location for a local wedding. Large space.. bedroom, lounge and separate bathroom (shower only). Such a nice surprise to have a lovely big space to ourselves. Easy to park outside. The hot tub and the sauna are private and a really lovely treat.

Loved it, will definitely be heading back again and again!

Stayed here in June and returned in July and since then the owners have added a sink unit, stove top, microwave, BBQ and everything you would need for a short break should you wish to prepare your own food or simply prepare snacks. This property is comfortable, clean, in a beautiful quiet location with local pubs a short drive away. Perfect location to sit in the awesome hot tub and watch the sun go down and the stars appear. I will most definitely be returning here for a quiet break away from the work life stress of that I am certain!

Going home when my stay was up, could have happily stayed longer.
