Superb

An clean, affordable, and friendly choice within walking distance to downtown.

Really nice renovation of an old school property. Like many of the repurposed retro hotel/motel projects, the Clifton seems to be redressing an imbalance in the hotel/motel landscape, offering affordable but basic accommodation in a thoughtful, well-maintained, clean and cared-for environment. Along with a great bar and comfortable outdoor space for night fires and gatherings, it is a good place to meet people (or not) and a walkable base for downtown.

Neighborhood is borderline sketchy for the few blocks up into the downtown area, but as a single male, I felt very safe. If uncomfortable, I would walk in groups. (The most 'local' liquor store is pretty ghetto.) Also, it should be noted, if this version of hipster chic is not your cup of tea, you may be put off.

Great value, good vibes and a stellar location.

Fun, funky renovated mid century motel. Loved all the (actual) vintage decor. Safe property, easy parking, great location. Exceptional value.

Minor things, but the lack of headboard was a bit weird. TV remote was broken.

Am returning tomorrow, hopefully before it gets daark so I can see the common area.

What breakfast?

Interior lighting at reception area so dim, I did not stay for a drink, which I was expecting to have.

This seems like a customer service failure to me.

I did not stay at the property because it was closed when I arrived. The was a note on the door with a phone number which no one answered. An email or text informing me would have been been useful. Finding your hotel closed after a very long traveling day is not a pleasant experience.

Location and rooms was great. Furniture is sharp, no joke. Lounge has unpredictable hours.

The location was great, even if a little ways from downtown because it was a quick trip to get there. The room was what we expected and we liked the quirky style. Now for the not so good stuff. The room was clean on the surface but when I opened the night stand drawer I found a partially finished joint. I have no problem with the joint itself it just made me worry that the cleanliness wasn't as good as I would have liked. The bed frame had these really sharp corners that left some awful bruises on our shins, not their fault but that bed frame was the DEVIL. Finally, we were told when we checked in that the lounge was serving drinks and food until 10pm. We made sure to get back from our event by 9:30 so we could grab a quick bite only to be told that the kitchen was closing and we could only get drinks, it put damper on our night.
