Really quirky boutique hotel with character, brilliant staff and a great menu.

Youre literally staying on the beach. The staff, food and drinks are fantastic. Really quirky and funky decor, one of the coolest boutique hotels Ive stayed at.

Nothing not to like as such. Restaurant downstairs wasnt open for breakfast on the two days we were there, no issue though as it gave us more reason to explore the cafes around us.

The room is really good. Clean, big and all you need. Except a watercooker.

The terrace outside at the entrancs is really dirty. Also the way to enter the room ia not so nice.. at the back of the building next to the kitchen. We would not come again because it is overpriced..

If it's available, book it!

We stayed there twice during our vacation in Sri Lanka. It is a very laid-back, cool place, very clean and spacious, situated right on the beach, very close to all surf schools. All staff members were very friendly and always smiling, making us feel very welcome and just happy :) It's probably the best place we've ever stayed at and we will always smile when thinking about the Sea Salt Society. They only have 2 rooms, so if it is available, book it!

Our happy place

We absolutely loved Sea Salt Society! It is a cozy beach bar/ restaurant with 2 rooms upstairs. It is a perfect place to stay in Hikkaduwa - right in the middle of the surfing paradise, there are plenty of surf schools just in front of their place. The room itself was perfectly clean, quiet, modern, spacious, and had all we needed. What makes this place very special are the people who work at Sea Salt Society. They are so helpful, attentive, funny, friendly, and kind that we decided to change our plans and come back there again :) Also, the food and drinks in the restaurant are very delicious - highly recommend trying the traditional Sri Lankan breakfast. All staff members made our stay there very memorable and it makes us smile every time we think about Hikkaduwa. Sea Salt Society is definitely our happy place :)

Great room with a mediocre restaurant

The hotel is located directly at the beach. The room is very spacious with a super comfortable bed. Additionally, there's an AC and a big TV with Netflix.

The room was amazing but this is not really a hotel. It is more like a restaurant that offers two rooms to sleep in. The food in the restaurant wasn't that great (Don't order the pizza, you'll be disappointed). We waited for over an hour for the food that didn't even arrive at the same time for my partner and me. The restaurant opens at 10 so look for other places to have breakfast.

Very comfortable beds and big room!

The outdoor space looks like they didn't clean it for years...the Aircon was dusty ( you can have serious breathing problems) The fan was really dusty..the bed needs painting If you want to spend 77$ a day you can find much better places
